I've already seen the response from many TBM friends and family on social media. They do what they always do, "the video leaks only strengthen my testimony of the church and the brethren" "so awesome to see our inspired leaders getting updates and staying up with what is going on in the world, you can see how they are able to learn all these things and then go to th elord f

The leaked videos reinforce my view that until a person is actually ready to acknowledge that maybe, just maybe, the church is not true, that TBM's will take information like this and use it to dig there heels in further and double down on the church being true. The overwhelming response I am seeing on social media is "the videos being leaked adn being able to see what goes on in those me

If he paid tithing during his working years on his income before deductions, then there is no doubt that he already paid tithing on that income, to pay it again would be to pay it twice. That is really the only line of reasoning with a TBM that has a chance of going anywhere.

But there was this one time that a pilot was flying over the polar ice caps dove down and accidentally flew thew a passage where he witnessed an entire civilization that lived beneath the ice caps. He could never find it again. Any global warming is gods plan to melt the ice caps and being the tribes back in glory.

along with the gossip about the reasons you left there is always speculation on "what sin was it that caused sister slave to leave". WoW is usually number 1 on the list but they have no problem throwing in things like "too lazy, they are probably swingers, too interested in partying on Sunday, etc..." The list goes on.

That's really too bad he is doing that, what a jerk. All I can say it that in the end he may be doing you a favor (although not out of any sense of kindness). Getting word out to everyone right away will avoid you having to go through the same reactions and conversations over and over. Kind of like ripping the band aid off quick. Anyway, good luck and stay strong!

I've got to admit, when we first left and I was buying beer down the street, the fear is real. I told myself over and over that I didn't care if people saw me, but when my home teacher walked in and saw me walking out with a case of beer I almost had a panic attack. It really does fade over time though. Last time I was in th egrocery store with a case of beer in my cart a mormon neighbor c

I don't totally understand her position. She was kidnapped by a fundamentalist mormon psychopath who believed that god had called him to be a prophet and that he had to take multiple wives. He was able to brainwash her using mormon teachings regarding girls and sex into believing that she was so unworthy that not even her family would want her back. As part of that he used porn, drugs, viol

When I was home alone when I was 14 or 15 I would watch porn also, so would pretty much every 14 or 15 year old that I knew. None turned into violent criminals...

The mormons I've talked to about the ces letter that have said that they read it and they had no concerns with it have always turned out to be lying. The standard response seems to be, "those are the same thinga people have been saying about the church forever and those questions have been answered a long time ago." So,they tell themselves that they already know that stuff and th

There is really no way to look at this in such a simplistic manner like "hunting bad, not hunting good". Just look at what is happening to the lion population in Africa since restrictions have been put in place since Cecil the lion was killed. It is no longer profitable for hunting reserves to have a lot of lions around for people to hunt, instead they kill the animals they are tryi

Wait, are you saying that the only thing keeping them from actual human sacrifice is proper security? Like, if their aren't gourds around they will start sacrificing people? That's a little crazy. But people take offense at everyth

Tithing was always a source of guilt for me, I was always behind and had a real hard time paying it. I probably didn't ever pay more than $50,000, a decent amount of money, but not as bad as it could have been. One time I had to turn down a state calling because I was too far behind on tithing. I felt like a piece of shit loser for having to say no because I wasn't worthy. My wife was upset w

"and the leader is a good guy (2nd counselor in the BR)" lol, well, if he's 2nd counselor in the bishopric then there is no doubt that he'a a good guy. I mean, he does have the lord's stamp of approval and all... Anyway, it's strange that of all the contradictions that exist in the church that this is the one that you would latch onto. The bishop has the same mentality that

I liked this part: "According to the Church, a good portion of the administrative and overhead costs associated with the various humanitarian programs are privately fronted by the Church itself." Meaning that the church, in theory, could ramp up to spent $10 million in aid to a country that had just suffered a disaster. They could spend $9 million funneling money to leaders catag

Lost Soul, here is the things about the "feelings" you have had that confirm the church is true. The church does a really good job of drilling into members heads from the day they are born that when they "feel" a specific feeling, that is the spirit telling you that what you are being taught is true. Here is why they do that. Let's say you are reading the book of mormon

well, they are lamanites, not the smartest group of people in the world. Classic bad guy mistake to take a bad ass like moroni on 1 on 1, and not rush him as a group. If you go to like, Iowa or something you can actually find the ancient battle ground where this happened. He was fleeing ancient upstate New York after burying the plates in the hill cumorah that joseph smith would eventually

Mormons love being dentists, mormons also love living in happy valley. Therefore, there have to be more dentists per capita in Provo than anywhere else in the world. I can almost guarantee that there is no way you could ever find a non mormon dentist in provo. There are already too many and therefore no non mormon dentists have zero motivation to practice in Provo.

That question presupposes that everyone who left did so because they were offended. Not to be too rude, but that is just dumb. People begin to wake up and leave for a million different reasons. Being offended is just one of them. I started really looking into the truth of the church when I realized that I hated going to church because it was so damn boring. Seriously, a total waste of ti

This post has some serious problems in that the OP is missing some key facts. There is more to the story about moroni that should tell you more about his character. He did die fighting, maybe it wasn't actually defending his people, but he took a lot of lamanites with him, here is proof: "At a meeting at Spanish Fork, Utah Co., in the winter of 1896, Brother Higginson stated in my pre

I was always taught the line that Jesus came to this planet because we were the most wicked of all planets, and that we were the only ones who would kill our own God, but that was actually a good thing I guess because the plan required him to be killed, so it was good that there was at least one evil planet that would kill him. So parents on other planets teach their kids to worship earth Jesu
