I think the best answer to this is: "I threw it in the trash when I threw out my garments and all my Mormon books."

I think the old boys win the most up-tight people in the world title. I think the church works both make and female TBMs to death only in different ways. What's worth eighteen hour days all alone with a mess of kids from toddlers to teens or long days at work followed by boring do nothing evening meetings where you take shit from the bishop and stake president and then a Sunday of more of the sa

Given you departure from the church, even if BYU would take you back, I think you would be miserable there. Decide where you want to go, arrange for any possible transfer of credits, apply and when you get in, announce your decision to your mother. It's your life, do what you want to do. If you're not Mormon, make sure that your mother knows so she doesn't keep getting her hopes up.

GOd caused 911 to punish all the evangelists such as Anne and her even crazier brother Franklin who use God to defraud gullible Americans so the Grahams can live in luxury.

Sure now that he is too old for sex he is going to throw a lot of young gay kids under the bus for some Judas gold.

This was the first sign for my son in law that my daughter was having an affair. If you tell your spouse that this bothers you and they don't stop, then the writing is in the wall. My daughter is about to wreck her life and there is nothing I can do about it. She is shocked that I am not supportive of her.

As a grandmother I have always been terrified of doing this. So what I decided that when any kids are in the back seat I always put my purse in the backseat too. That would work for most women. Men may need to do something different but along the same line.

Expect a shit storm but try to keep your cool. Give you wife time to think this through. Reassure your wife that your commitment to the family hasn't changed. Be patient.

I suspect many people in the cult really don't care. But I think lots of people do, especially young people do care about truth claims especially because the old boys at the top are making the rules of the church are becoming more arduous (cleaning churches, grimmer rules for MIssionaries, more pressure on males to be MIssionaries, more pressure to marry right after missions). I think teens wh

My God daughter in high school talked her parents into letting her go away with her friend and her friend's mother. The mom left the kids alone on Saturday evening and the kids got into the mom's booze. The kids got drunk and roamed around the hotel. She was raped by a foreign hotel worker who fled the country before he was caught. She got genital herpes for the tape and while she is doing fine n

I remember talking about this issue with my mom. She reminded me that she and my dad married in 1937 and that they had their first child in 1942. 1942 was the year when Hikter controlled all of Europe except Britain and Japan was running amok in Asia. The message I took from that was that it was a mistake to let turmoil in the world put your life plans on hold. There has always been turmoil

I did at 34. It meant my kids had a comfortable middle class life and paid for university. Now I have a secure retirement. One of the best decisions I made.

Not an evangelical but enjoyed his father's preaching. Stopped supporting his Christmas Child charity when I realized what an ass he is. (Give to Sally Ann instead.) After his comments on Columbine, my dislike of him turned to hatred. He is pure evil.

I reLly think all of us who are offended by this Mormon event should come up with a ceremony if our own that perhaps resigns the person from Mormonism and unites the person for eternity with Satan. We could have music, candles, and perhaps cocktails. Then anytime a relative announces that they have dead dunked someone we care about, we could perform a Satan ceremony for their nearest and deare

I was a child during the fifties. I was lucky to have a great family. Some of my friends were not so lucky and had the shit beat out of them regularly and everyone knew it. No one said a thing. I was in college in 1965. I got a summer job selling shoes in a shoe store. I was paid twenty five % less an hour than the one year younger male college student who was hired at the same time as me beca

It takes a long time to get rid of all the programming. You can speed up the reprogramming a bit by reading everything you can about how cults work. Also try to spend more time with non Mormons and less time with TBMs. Don't beat yourself up for your thoughts. Work on your behaviour towards others and with time, your thought processes will change.

Perhaps it will lead to some of their kids leaving the church. in most cases of non wealthy people, seniors at some point need to use the proceeds from the sale of their home to finance their last retirement years. In my parents case it meant the difference between life in a lovely retirement home and life in an unpleasant one. To expect their children to help them out in their latter years an

What he wrote is just so much blah, blah, blah. My experience is that when you have an ex who you were with for a significant period of time, there are always residual feelings left. My advice is avoid those feelings by avoiding any contact with them or any news about them. Your feelings will gradually go. After many years apart, I was surprised to find that when I heard my ex had died, I felt

The church can't get your kids unless you let them. Help them make lots of non Mormon friends and do not allow them to participate in any Mormon activities. Teach them critical thinking skills. If you are in a Mormony area, teach them the real church history.

Go to community college for a one year tech skills training program. My two kids did this and they both have good careers based on their GIS qualifications plus the fact that they have degrees.

There is a list of what all the short forms mean at the side of the page if you are on a computer not a hand held device. I don't recall when I first came on here that it was such a big deal to learn them. Perhaps you would be better on a different site more to your liking.

That is not my experience with home schooled kids. A friend of mine has a niece who has one little girl. She and husband are fundies and the mother is homeschooling her daughter. SHe doesn't want her daughter exposed to "heathens" in public schools. The mom who is homeschooled dropped out after grade eight. She brags about homeschooling to a room full of university educated and pu
