All depends on what you mean by Christianity. Was it Paul's version? Or Yeshua's version? What? My feeling is that no church today is a continuation of Yeshua's movement. Oh, and I do not believe there is a God btw.

So more on this. The following is my response: "Sorry, Steve but science does not prove the Bible is true. It is the opposite. Also, if one looks carefully at archaeology (I am an anthropologist/archaeologist) it also proves that the Torah (5 books of Moses) are myth. The Jesus figure is a myth. many religions that predate Christianity had savior man-gods. Mithra just being one example. A

On another venue I was told this after I mentioned I about died leaving the church because of the stress... "William, Sorry that you had to go through so much to seperate yourself from mormonism. But Science actually proves the writings in the written word of God in the Bible. Science as a belief or religion will leave you empty and hopeless. The only One who can fill the void we all find

What type of f'd up religion would say God assigned you to be sexually abused? That is so messed up. If I believed in hell I would relegate that lady to the deepest depths. What bullshit.

I grew up in the church in the 60's and 70's in upstate NY. We got to Palmyra a lot. At that time, growing up in the church was really pretty good. We had road shows, lots of parties, dances, and all sorts of activities that were fun. This was before correlation and sending all the money to SLC. I went on my mission from 75-77 and that wasn't bad either as my parents sent me money directly from w

If I had a kid on a mission I would have prepped him/her not to give it to anyone but a government official when required. For Canada from the US I would send them with the passport and a passport card and tell them not to tell anyone they had the card because they could take a bus to the border and cross with just the card.

I'm an agnostic going to a liberal Protestant church for the social aspects. But I dabble in the study of Goddess worship for the fun of it. Not because I am an ardent believer. And it makes Christians squirm at times. lol

Its sad today how little food missionaries get. Kids their age have to eat well and plenty of it. When I went on my mission the families sent money to us. Not to the headquarters to be doled out. I ate fairly well.

Michael Shermer on belief Shermer has a new book out titled The Believing Brain. Here's some info from it: We form our beliefs for a variety of subjective, personal, emotional, and psychological reasons in the context of environments created by family, friends, colleagues, culture, and society at large; after forming our beliefs we then defend, justify, and rationalize them with a host of i

On my way out of Mormonism, not only did I deconstruct Mormonism but I deconstructed Christianity as well. As well as Judaism and all other religions. Many Christians that I have met over the past number of years get just as defensive as Mormons when someone questions the veracity of their religion. Why is Christianity right and no other religion is right? What if your religion isn't uniqu

The writing of pseudopigraphia was an accepted practice back then. The whole thing was made up by men. We ave no idea who really wrote the gospels. Half of Paul's letters are not written by him and the rest of the letters/epistles are suspect. None of it was shat out by God.

I look for the day when religion is cast by the wayside and secular humanism is adopted. Some of the most unChristian people I know are devout Christians. Some of the most "Christian" people I know are atheists.
