It IS abusive to women. As bad as mainstream mormonism treats women, this is WAY worse. It is also much worse for the children than the grown women and it's very very bad for the young boys if they are turned out on the streets and left for dead so as to keep more females to service alpha males.

You claim that they take responsibility and have a right to live as they do. I don't think they arej as responsible and happy as they look to you. Neither are mainstream mormons as wonderful as they appear in their canned commercials on TV and radio.

here are a few ways they are the same. 1. How they pray, family prayer, food blessings, individual prayer at night, and in church meetings, they use the same terminology and follow the same patterns. Most of them even use that phrase about "nourish and stregthen our bodies." They usually kneel for family and individual prayer and they fold their arms like mainstream mormons do. 2.

I'm heard of it working by snailmail, email, face to face, on a scratch paper, and by phone. I think the easiest way has always been by an official letter sent via US mail. But there might be reasons to try the other methods which would open up the process for others in the future. Nowadays, morg locals sometimes just offer to take care of it without so many formalities. They want to clear the

The Allred group look isn't quite as extreme as FLDS, but neither do they look like normal worldly non-mormons. They love to *think* they are normal, but then so do mainstream fanatical TBMs.

I've met and on RfM I've read about hundreds of non-believing mormons who are scared of not going on a mission, worried about shopping on Sunday, afraid of their parents finding out if they resign, horrified that their neighbord will see them drinking coffee, and tied in knots that they might not be invited to family gatherings. These are regular lowly mormons who think they have "too much t

This reminds me of another recent post where someone claimed that mormons don't solicit when they come to strangers' doors with messages or flyers. That makes no sense because the ONLY reason a mormon shows up at a stranger's house is to solicit something from them. When I first started using words on RfM like harass, trespass, and stalk, many posters strongly objected. They said mormons do

Abusive language from someone who thinks it's fine to use my name and to copy, keep for five years, lie about, and capitalize on a post that was up for only a couple of hours about a frightening medical emergency in my family.

It's hard to imagine why anyone would save and continue to obsess and rant over a small five year old exchange with strangers on the internet.

As a mormon, I was programmed to think that "life would be fair." I thought I only had to prove myself "worthy," and that didn't have to negotiate to reap benefits. This is NOT reality! We can't sit back and expect others to read our minds and repay us for our long suffering. As a woman, I'd have trouble respecting a man who was so passive that he'd simply fall into l

Thank you for sharing it. You are so right that mormon programming affects our relationships, our decisions, and our lives even though we reject the church and never attend it from early adulthood on. I left it early but also realized it affected my interactions with others and my expectations. Hopefully, having RfM available will help you and others figure these things out better and faste

Drop a hint or two next time you see her. Don't take comfort in thinking the short skirts, cursing, and such mean she will be open to giving up on other mormon issues. That is very unlikely in my opinion.

How sad and appalling! I've been to Mojave and can imagine the situation. That's terrible. I can only read these stories when I'm feeling strong enough to handle them. Glad you and everyone else in this thread survived and are out of that so-called church.

have free access to continually harass non-mormon dead spirits. Except that mormons think the dead don't flip off or slam doors because they're smarter and nicer in death than they were when they hosed living mishies. Dead spirit mishies and dead dunking are almost as distasteful as polygamy in my opinion.

Tell her the choices are to leave them home with you or take them to church with her. Say it as nicely as possible but with firmness. You've just moved and are dealing with a new job to feed the family. You need your emotional and physical reserves for that. You know her best, but that's what I would do. I think it's worth it to avoid being sucked into this new ward. It's a good time to dra

You're right. My husband's parents were Church of God and their best freinds were Assembly of God. I've taught quite a few Muslim kiddies in public school. Baptists cover a very wide range from reasonable to extremist, like the Hellfire guy at your work. Sorry you've had to deal with so many of these types, but I think you'd agree that it's better to work with them than to have to have intervi

It's hilarious that we already have probable mormon plants on this wonderful new site, and their intent is to curb free expression. This is what a couple of them said On my current thread about the slime who wants to take down me and my friends here. These questionable morgish characters suggested that the quickest way to stir up trouble with anyone is to criticize their religion. I don't a

Or, perhaps you missed the third paragraph of the original post at the top of the thread about the person out on facebook and other sites I don't frequent. He's still mistating and railing about an incident on RfM nearly five years ago. The creep pretends to be defending me, but is using *me* as a poster child to promote taking down RfM, defaming administrators, and fellow posters among other thi

The problem I object to, Libby, is (2) covertly LYING and unfairly smearing people behind their backs for personal gain. (1) is based on factual honesty with a goal of recovering from a destructive cult. (2) is conniving, using deceit to further a nefarious personal agenda and to do harm to targeted individuals and prevent free communication and recovery those who are trying to help those i

Sorry to be so cryptic. You assumed correctly that I and others don't want to cause any more possible harm or aggrivation to Eric, Susan, Steve, or others. This isn't someone who consistently uses real or consistent names.

My sister-in-law, brother, and their kids were/are in it. It's more enlightened and friendlier than FLDS or the Kingstons, but it's still a slimy offshoot of the larger more mainstream mormons. When I was a kid, I went to some of their meetings and was friends with several girls near my age. A couple of the wives hid out in trailers behind our house and one lived inside our home with her kids
