I always wanted to kick the asses of the people who chose sour dough bread. Seriously. How can you get that taste out of your mouth? Oh, and one ward I went to have 3 people who couldn't have gluten...the bread sucked every week.

Had tea and beer in my cart. Someone (I hardly knew back in the day) saw me and saw my cart and inquired about it. "Silhouete, hows it going?" "Fine, yourself?" "Good... Is that beer..and tea?!" "Yup." "I am not sure what to think.." "Well, maybe you should talk to my Bishop...Don't want you to feel guilty now." I left it at t

Same boat here Brandy. You are maybe 4 months behind me. It is hard but so worth it in the end. The freedom is what will confirm you have done the right thing. The church and it's system will try to make you think you that you are the lost one.

Haha, I didn't think this thread would be as funny as it got. Let me explain. When coming out of Mormonism, you entire support structure goes away. So now you have to relearn life (dating, hang out spots, friends, etc) and that directly affects your dating life (newly divorced doesn't help).

Thank you for your story and continue to tell it. I am glad I never went on a mission, but the sheer pain the church has caused in my life in similar. Again, thank you.

Word of my divorce is getting around. Yesterday I got a FB message from someone I barely knew wanting to know the nitty gritty. Sure I could have said "she left me when I quit the church" but I barely know the fool. All the got was a message confirming I am divorced, and I don;t discuss those details of my personal life. That solved it.

Emailed dodge on a Sunday night. Got a letter Wednesday. Call from Bishop Friday. 1 month later, exit letter. Congrats. Freedom typically isn't free. Don't let them pressure you or make your life hard. And if they do, it iwll be worth it in the end.

Just an observation Today while talking with a LDS friend the subject of my "apostasy" was brought up. The first lame excuse that was introduced was "that the info is placed there by the devil to deceive us". Now I did something unusual of myself and said "Ok. I will buy that". My buddy's faces was of a hopeful look. Then I continued to ask question. Finally I ask

First of all, CCW and opencarry are LEGAL in Utah. Even wit the metal detectors, there is no law against it. (unless it's a government building with signs posted). He would have never been arrested.

Wrong. The man was armed and fleeing. If they had cause to believe he could have caused harm to others (a gun and refusal to cooperate is enough), they can take him out.

God saved that picture of Jesus but sure as hell smitted the Tabernacle. And were there only one picture of Christ in there? Because if so what does that tell you?

I am sorry to hear of your situation. We all deal with pain when we make our escape. Listen to what others have to say here and bide your time. It might be easier to wait until you are out from under their roof to make your move. And feel free to vent. It's what we are here for... We have all been through it and you are not alone.

My bet is that the generators are not for power loss, but for high power cost. Either way, if the power cost goes through the roof, gas will as well. I do food and water storage as well as survival kits...but my profession is a military survivalist. And yes it will pay off. Expect heavy inflation in the comming years.. will the country collapse? No. Bailouts anyone?
