At least for myself, it's really easy to lose track of time when I'm online, whether the topic is ex-mormonism, or politics, or watching stupid videos on you-tube. For me, changing media is really helpful. If I get a book in print, I can still get the info I want and spend plenty of time mulling things over in my mind without losing track of time.

Personally, I don't like the idea of forgiveness. It implies that you are/were wrong to be emotionally involved and that you ought to get over it. Pushing the need for absolute forgiveness, in my humble opinion, is one of Christianity's big screw-ups. What I do favor is acceptance. It makes sense to accept that they're crazy and find ways to live with difficult people in a difficult situation.
