I'm keeping my eye out, but have not seen anything about them. Others are watching. I don't think those are published. Probably because they are private. Someone correct me if I'm in error about that....

Excerpt ..... Houston Texas South Stake President David Frank Hruska said the disciplinary council will consider whether Young is in apostasy based on reports that he has repeatedly acted in "clear, open and deliberate public opposition to the church or its leaders," according to the notice Hruska gave Young. The church considers disciplinary councils to be private. Young posted Hruska'

This is one time when we have a written script that was used for the Disciplinary Court which can be spread widely to bring attention to a huge problem in the LDS Church. What is it they preach? John 4:35 Say not ye, ‘There are yet four months and then cometh the harvest’? Behold, I say unto you, lift up your eyes and look on the fields, for they are white already to harvest. Oh

Oh for Goodness Sake! The woman playing the Mormon Card going along to get along, trusting, yada yada. At what point does she stop and think and say no, thank you? Then complaining about her choices? You see, I'm not big on women victims when they know they have choices.... But, I could be completely wrong.... it could happen!

Usually, it was only announced in priesthood meeting to the men whether the person was male or female.

Oh yes. An actual photo can be very accurately reproduced, if they wanted to do that. But, like everything else, the Mormon Church uses fiction to sell everything as believable.

You can believe whatever you want. We have freedom of thought in this country. Evolution is a fact. It is true whether you believe it or not. (Paraphrasing Neil deGrasse Tyson)

My doctor told me not to take my newborn to church! I took his advice. I don't recall how long I kept the baby home. The Mormon greeting is shaking hands, which is the best way to transfer germs. I was never sick until I moved to UT where shaking hands was ubiquitous.

One more Mormon who doesn't "GET IT." I commend his effort, but he's still way off target. It's my observation that most people are leaving the Mormon Church because it's not true. Very simple. Not true. None of the claims are factual. Period. The crux of the falsehood, of course, is the Book of Mormon which is fiction about imaginary people, places and things and plagiarized

Yes. Mormonism was fun and enjoyable in many ways that are gone now. I met my husband to be at a Tri-Stake Dance. He was a little older, home from a mission, I was 20. We had dances, and dinners, and Firesides that were interesting. RS Bazaars were amazing. I learned to quilt, change a tire, and self-defense, etiquette, and literature in RS.I met many of the current apostles in the 60's at

Joseph Smith Jr had several things going for him, one very important one was his appearance. He was tall and good looked maybe even "sexy" for those days, in addition to amazing charisma. Reading history and how people gravitated to him, I wondered if looking at him, women likely swooned. Who wouldn't want to be one of his special women? Listening to him speak, he had the amazing skill

Many, many years ago, when I examined these statements, and the Pearl of Great Price, I came to the conclusion that these men were not clear about what is a star and what is a planet. I found it rather humorous. They are trying to describe something that does not exist. Oh well. That is what makes Mormonism so interesting, the inherent quality in Joseph Smith Jr to get people to see and be

I had (almost) forgotten about that phrase: "that's not necessary for your Salvation." I heard that one a lot! I was a convert and had a lot of questions nobody could answer. I had not grown up with all those cultural rules, and unwritten policies. I was floundering. What to do? I scoured several books, finally landing on Bruce R. McConkie's "Mormon Doctrine" (in the 60'

I have posted this in a separate post, but I'll put it here also. The #1 strangest teaching is Kolob in the Pearl of Great Price. (Parody) My process leaving Mormonism has been sprinkled with a lot of writing, some of it is satire and parody. A few years ago, I decided to look at what is considered revealed, inspired truths specifically about the Book of Abraham and Kolob and see what kind

My point, is that it would be a whole new kind of Mormon Sunday School Class, if this part of the Pearl of Great price, was taught in this manner! It's my view that few members know much about their teaching on Kolob which is one of the biggest divides in Christian type theology. Kolob is considered the place where the Mormon God - Heavenly Father - lives and where all the big stuff happens

I found this article very helpful. DNA is Like a Bunch of Colored Beads DNA isn’t passed down from generation to generation in a single block. Not every child gets the same 50% of mom’s DNA and 50% of dad’s DNA. (Unless of course they are identical twins). This has consequences in terms of how much DNA siblings share. And even more significantly, what DNA they share. One way to

Yes. It's accurate, GNPE. This is all handled locally. Half of the Stake Council are to protect the member summoned to the Disciplinary Council. Anyone can ask questions. It's all explained at the onset of the council. Paperwork is sent to SLC Membership Office which is considered Confidential. There will be a letter of the findings of the council mailed to him. Generally, there will also b

Why does this feel like they are "washing their hands" of her? They can't get compliance and can't do much about it. Let her go. She's over 70, how much trouble can she get into? Well, a lot, actually, so we'll wait and see what she does after she is out in about 10 days.
