Exactly! Couldn't agree more with every point you have made. My sisters are TBM and married to Mormons and are mostly on their owns all day and a lot of the evening too with the kids and no other company. I was a nanny on a few occasions, for several months at a time and sometimes with very young babies and toddlers. And I can tell you as much as I loved the kids I nearly lost my mind. Ju

Ahh so happy that I am NOT stuck with MY family for eternity! I got my free ticket out of there, left the cult! :) But yes that is super obnoxious.

If it were real I'd be worried it was haunted. What was it that Brigham spent on them, $5 each or some nonsense. His brilliant 'inspired' idea to save money and allow more emigrants to come through more quickly. And of course he promised they would all make it safely because go would protect them. Whoops 250 dead and many of the survivors left without hands or feet, amputated because

So f'ing annoying! I am sorry. But not surprised they were bound to find a sleazy way to try and get you back sooner or later. I love how they think they are so sneaky and clever using something like asking you to play piano because they saw you had a piano and then using flattery to try and entice you further. It's so transparent to outsiders but they don't see that. And since they a

Whether or not a joke, I don't think this is far off. Eventually if the cult is to survive the modern age they will have to at least give some kind of token 'priesthood' to women. They may wait until their tax exempt status is threatened (like they did with blacks and the priesthood), but I think it's bound to happen eventually, however the men will still maintain their power every which way the

Not all men are like you fortunately. Just the misogynists who like to objectify women. As it is there is a very real, very prevalent problem with porn addiction among (active) Mormon men. Which makes sense for many reasons, but also confirms that the men are in charge and that they are misogynists like you.

Thanks Erik! "Therefore, you are sealed up to the highest degree of the celestial kingdom unconditionally. Any sins committed afterward may render you liable to the 'buffetings in the flesh' but they will not prevent you from attaining your exaltation. The only sin that is unpardonable is denying the Holy Ghost (or in some passages the shedding of innocent blood)." This part makes

Freeman said- "So women have a lot of control. Get money from their guy while being his only sexual outlet. Women are not stupid or weak. They have a strategy for control. And by claiming to be victims, they get even more power and control. The victim industry is booming." You have got to be f-ing kidding me! What an f'n A-hole! Absolutely incredible. victims powerful? Oh please.

I've only just recently heard this term so I still don't know what it is. Can anyone enlighten me? Or point me in the direction to get enlightened. Thanks!

My family thought I had been 'offended' when I told them I had left. They couldn't understand that I had issues with their beloved doctrine. Of course there were people who offended me, esp. when my BYU professors and BYU bishop sexually harassed me. And the whole nature of TSCC is very offensive. But I didn't feel like it was because of a particular person or group of people that I chos

"Free Man" is clearly a misogynist. His posts are always so sexist and bashing women. thinking they just 'love' being in the church 'so much' and not getting how imprisoned they and other abused women are. Clearly has no concept of what emotional and physical abuse does to people. It's actually much more powerful than having a gun held to one's head. He has no clue at all.

I was abused by my boyfriend in high school. Sexually and emotionally. He was a convert, converted by me. Nobody saw it, how hurt I was, nobody saw what was going on. No my father just praised me for bringing in a member. I was a star in the family and the ward for awhile because of it. But in secret he forced himself on me but claimed we both sinned. I took the burden of guilt and responsibil

Wow that IS something. LOVE your bullet notes! Too true. Yes the fact that she 'feels sad' means she feels guilt as was intended by that asshat president Hunt. Because she hasn't been 'faithful enough' and as you pointed out, she never actually will be. I mean NOBODY, NOBODY, NOBODY, not even Jesus Christ himself has EVER EVERY EVER EVER moved a god damn f'ing MOUNTAIN before!! So why

As a female I have to forever be a female (I am assuming that Mormons don't believe in souls being genderless or able to change from one to another), so in the CK I'd basically be a servant to some god-man forever and be one of his millions of eternal wives forever bearing children and serving them as well. Mormons believe Eve sinned and so is to obey men and god forever and be forever beneat

"Why do they leave off Kevin Rahm all the time?" That's the other one I was going to mention because I actually knew him personally at BYU! Not really well, but he was in an acting class with a really close friend of mine, so I met him there and got to see a play that he and my friend were in. Was so fun to see him in Madmen! Glad to see him doing so well.

Ah, here it is, looks like he never officially resigned, but still should be on that list (since it includes 'in actives') "Talking to Entertainment Weekly regarding his Mormon faith, he revealed: "I'm sure people think I'm a Mormon, but I don't know that I'm a Mormon anymore, you know? To be honest, to be perfectly clear, I'd be a hypocrite if I did say that I was, just because I ha

I don't see Aaron Eckhart on the list! He was at the Y when I was there. He was in a student film with a friend of mine (called 'Edges', pretty funny to watch now, I have a copy on VHS still) and later when he got famous, my family all felt he had sold his soul to Satan working in Hollywood on R rated films..and of course the assumption (probably correct) is that he left TSCC at that point.

Hhmm. 'dumb luck' you mean. :) I know I have also had such experiences and when I was a TBM, with that filter I assumed an angel saved us as I think most TBMs do.. But I imagine most people experience lucky breaks in their lives right? Cant just be the mormomns..

Well my earlier risk taking behavior involved sleeping with strangers and drinking too much and excessive pot smoking. So these days I find it less risky to get my kicks in wilderness adventure activities. :) Maybe it's an adrenaline addiction, though I don't really feel drawn to the high adrenaline outdoor stuff. There are some things I am actually very afraid of, like jumping from plane

That is an excellent point Hie! I totally relate to that as well. I remember for a very long time it was so difficult to take any kind of compliment seriously even when they were likely to be sincere. And I also had to learn it was okay just to say 'thank you' and not have to do the 'humble' submissive reaction I'd been trained for where it was only proper to protest and say 'oh no I'm not th

Thanks Summer. Yes asking myself simple questions is a good start. I think also maybe it has to do with being unfamiliar with self care and growing up in home environment where the main form of abuse was neglect. That's cool you took Aikido lessons. I think I could benefit from some kind of self defense classes but never figured out which would be the best fit. My joints can't handle a lot of

YES to liberation! Awesome description of your feelings when you realized you were free. Thanks for sharing. Such a great reminder, we ARE free and do NOT 'owe' God or anyone else anything! When I remind myself of that is DOES feel good. I think, I deserve life and liberty because I AM alive, because I WAS born. Just because I was born to my particular parents also does not mean I OWE them an

20 years out of the cult and I realize that something I do might be related to my upbringing indoctrination. I often do not take normal or needed safety measures in many situations because I somehow think that a particular bad thing won't happen to me. For example. I may go out into our seasonal river when it's flowing and go for a swim. knowing that the river this time of year is prone t

Exactly Done & Done! I personally am one of those people who feels extra obligated to someone when they pay me any kind of attention, kindness, compliment, etc. And I don't know if that's because of the cult indoctrination and being made to feel I always owe everyone, or if it's just part of my nature. But it's true. And so I tend to be very independent because I don't want to owe an
