Yes, I wonder about that. He had to divorce part of himself and walk a careful line. Probably effected his historical account a bit. I could imagine some of it would be left out so as not to offend his audience. Could you imagine how emotional it would be at times to write that history? A fine thin line he probably walked.

I thought that as well and while partly true it was very common to reference them depending on language it was written in. Bible did it too.

They had Greek forms of Hebrew names that they would use. For example Shi'mon is a Hebrew name with Greek form being "Simon". They changed names like that in the Bible too.

She's confused and doesn't know what she is saying. Surely a grandaughter would not wish a grand dad death to save your soul when she doesn't even know what that means. Nevertheless that would wound me terribly if my grand child (don't have any yet) said that to me. Not only because it would hurt me but because I would realize at that point that she has been brainwashed sufficiently and I would

I really hope so. I want to see it for myself. Just hear of one dedicated couple Or family leaving. Or a bishop leaving. Just one friggin' measly sign to give me some hope. Or a teacher teaching outside the lines would be nice. Ps. Descenter not assenter. Sheez. I knew that didn't sound right.

Only Easter hymn I've heard today is this one just from me copying and pasting one I remember from childhood. I sang it long ago and makes me feel a bit melancholy.

This was the truth of it for me. Someone always wanting my boobs for something. I used to imagine pleasing the whole family if I could get on my elbows and knees naked to do dishes. I could get it all done. The nursing, housework and please my husband. There. Another task to check off my list. Sad but true. That's how it was for me at one time.

Christ the Lord is ris’n today, Alleluia! Sons of men and angels say, Alleluia! Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia! Sing, ye heav’ns, and earth, reply, Alleluia! Lives again our glorious King, Alleluia! Where, O death, is now thy sting? Alleluia! Once He died our souls to save, Alleluia! Where thy victory, O grave? Alleluia! Love’s redeeming work is done, Alleluia! Fought

No better way to activate a jackmo than to quit going to church and becoming exmo. All of a sudden when you couldn't get them to go before, they start attending every Sunday. And preaching too.

I look at marriage as just two people living in a house together. Maybe they made some kids too. But neither owns the other, nor do you own each other's minds. It is when one imposes on the other and beats them over the head with religion, it starts to get very tiring not to mention that it isn't demonstrating love to do that. And I thought faith was all about kindness love and tolerance but I've

My father in law would have to leave it and then the house of cards would fall. That's how much power he has over everyone.

It will be on in the background. My faux TBMish Jackmoish will try to watch it but eventually he will be distracted as usual. I attempt to listen but it bores me to tears! I use it though in hopes to plant little seeds of doubt which I do at choice and very selective times but so far it hasn't remotely worked so why watch at all.

Sunday School today was about scriptures and why we can trust they were translated through Joseph Smith by God. Of course they never delve in to what any of them say or study them in depth. We talk about how they are important but it is never really explained WHY they are important or what they contain that is significant to be important. And they don't really get into what "after all that w

I would say the best bet would be if they appointed a lunatic to be prophet and start announcing crazy stuff. But seems to me that is a long shot.

I would haunt people on earth and give them signs that I'm still around watching them. After I grew tired of that I like UD's idea. That sounds fun to bathe in super Novas and dive through black holes and discover new universes. I would also want to make a lot of friends. I would miss creating things so hopefully I could make some stuff. I would really miss food. I think I might not remember who

My opinion is that it is going to survive. The face of it will change, and it is already changing. My husband's ward is crowded. No one sings the hymns or pays any attention to the speakers but they still mill around in the building for a few hours. I want to believe it will die a death that I can actually watch happen. But they are still holding fast from what I can see, even the young families

My husband reads his phone when there are lady and children speakers but when a fellow man member gets up there to speak he puts it away and listens. I hate him today so I'm letting it out. But I testify that what I say is "true". I don't bring my phone into the building and I don't bring in scriptures either.

Annoys me greatly. What's more annoying is when jackmo becomes activemo. So thank your lucky stars when they stay jackmo. When they become active there is a whole lotta preachin' going on and believe me. It makes you respect them even less when you have to ride out their phase wave with them. "Oh no, here we go again! Weeeee! Hop on the train to HELL!!"

I would just put something out there like "If you ever get to a place in your faith where you feel doubts or that something isn't quite right I want you to know you can always talk to me about it. I am here for you if you ever need me. I love you and whatever you believe in I will respect, but I just want you to know I will always be here for you. Don't forget where you came from or lose yo

I updated my Facebook profile photo to two rainbow hearts with intertwined wedding bands to represent my support for marriage equality. 90 percent of my Facebook friends believe marriage is between a man and woman but I wanted to take the step of courage and not be a coward to show I stand with all my friends to marry and love whom they will. I have a little old lady friend of my parents (and m

Okay, I misinterpreted. Maybe there IS gender. They do refer to angels some as she and some as he. I assumed "no" because of what Jesus said about us not being married in heaven. Mat 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. Mar 12:25 For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given

Why would anyone think a nevermo would think these rituals are a big deal? Like he said: he doesn't care. Why should he? It does not effect his life. Nomos do not give it much thought whatsoever because to them these rituals are silly and he looks at those performing them as silly and ignorant. In fact, poster in question is probably eating a sandwich right now and forgotten all about it.

Mormons don't want to know. They just want to believe in their church as it is all they have ever known. They associate good memories with the church in their upbringing. Mom and dad said it's true, this event that event, pride in being BIC and sealed with pioneer heritage, eternal marriage. What would happen to all of that? They keep the box closed for their very survival. The minute they qu

"Fact: Many other belief systems, including mainstream Christianity also believe that we will see, interact with and live with family members and loved ones after we die." Sort of. Christians if they believe the Bible believe we will neither be male nor female but like the angels (no gender). That we will know as we are known, meaning we will recognize each other but not have mortal

He gives us one commandment which is to love The Lord your God and your neighbor. As far as works goes, if you are loving your neighbor that's all the works required. Believe on The Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved is basically the whole philosophy. We humans then proceeded to add more rules because it was too easy, including Paul and Matthew and the rest. Who knows what Jesus really sai
