That's where strapless (for those of us with manageable busts) come in. I hate the look of straps showing as well! I like the racerback style of bra (or the clips you can use to bring the straps to the middle of your back) for wifebeater style tanks. Nude bras are also a must.

My least favoite was "o' god the eternal father". So somber and slow! "I kkow that my redeemer lives" came in close second. I always preferred the upbeat tempo songs. "I am a child of god" always got under my skin, mostly becauase it was so overused.

I personally prefer Moscow to almost every other place I have been or lived in. It is big enough that there is entertainment and shopping and stuff (although some say there is not enough), but small enough that places are within walking or biking distance. It is becoming more friendly to bikers and pedestrians, although the peds still follow the 'portland rule' (any intersection is a potential cr

Well, it's been quite a while since I left the church and moved out of my parents house. About 4 years (crazy! time flies). Anxiety is still here, but is so much better than it used to be, and getting better all the time. Depression is mostly gone, I have 'depression attacks' once in a while, but much less than ever before. Still struggling with some of the programming, especially regarding he

I honestly don't feel much lds influence here. I feel more of a hippy/student/pot head influence than anything, with a touch of redneck/backwoods. If I didn't know there were mormons here, i would never notice, other than the mishies wandering around, and students making disparaging comments about mormons as they walk by the institute lol.

I remember when they built that monstrosity up there by Staples. Would be interesting to see how much their membership has decreased since then. I attended U of I for a few years, then transferred to a different university, and maybe it is just because I am taking higher level courses, but my classes are much different. Smaller, the students are more serious, less clique bs, people actually go t

I read your estimate of 25%, and thought, there's no way 1 in 4 people in Moscow are lds. The link you posted said that about 30% of church attenders are lds, not that 30% of the population is lds. This site says that about 9% of moscow is lds, and you have to wonder if that data is based on some sort of independent census data, or if it is based on memberships records that the churches submi

Soooo I heard through the grapevine that there will no longer be a Moscow, Idaho student Ward. It is being combined. Now the married student adults will attend the normal ward, and there will be a singles ward still. It was attributed to more students attending BYU I. Maybe, maybe not. Anyways, carry on ;)

When I saw that movie about Joseph and Emma, and it mentioned in passing something about his other wives. My mind: "Wives??? What wives?? Thought there was just one wife???". Crazy I had to learn it from a church approved movie instead of the 3 hours of church I attended every week for 17.5 years...... Along with there not being any evidence for most of the basic tenets....

Ooooh... I also read those fill in the blank coloring sheets, that said "I can serve jesus by _____" and one of the local kids had put "paying my tihing". (yes. tihing. because he was not old enough to know that tithing has a 't' in it.. why is a child who isn't old enough to sound out words worrying about tithing???). There were a variety of other answers that made me cringe.

haha. to be fair, some of the actual nativities had variety (and some were so abstract it would be hard to tell a race). But the 'jesus room' with a crown of thorns on a red cloth and a million jesus pics and quotes had all white jesuses. Maybe some of the jesuses were tan.. but still very aryan/caucasian.

As a YW president, it was my job to do the friend-making a lot of the time. I didn't really like it.. especially as some of the girls didn't really like all the church contact. It was hard to call them and invite them to things because I knew they didn't want to go.. felt a lot like harassment :/ I was assigned to do it though, so I did for the most part. But when girls actually wanted to be ther

So I went to the Nativity event with my tbm parentals tonight (basically just a bunch of nativities and touchy feely jesus stuff), and it was interesting, a couple who was assigned to be there and answer questions/guide people noted quietly to us that the attendance dropped big time from last year's event. I was just thinking, "Hmmm... Could have something to do with the policies and essays

Where I am, a lot of folks have wood stoves. Incredibly practical in an emergency. One of the big towns around here lost electricity for a few weeks (true story- huge wind storm), and my friend, who had moved to the big city from the small country, was lucky enough to have a woodstove in their shop/garage. Got me thinking on how fragile our system is, since so many rely on electricity. Woodstoves
