Sunday, September 24, 11:30a PDT: Las Vegas, casual meetup at Neighboors Cafe at 5910 S Fort Apache Rd. Tapir on the table to find us or send me bm. Also, it has been quite a while my friends. I miss everyone here and want to say how this place saved my life when my mormon world came crashing down about 12 years ago. I was so lucky to find this community!

Instead of Ikea this week, we are having a potluck at 11am at Paseos Village Park (12122 Desert Moon Rd). The weather is perfect, bring the kids (or not) and lets hang out! PS Normal meetup is every Sunday 11am at Ikea foodcourt. We meet near the escalator and have a Tapir on the table rather than handshakes to identify us. Also join the local facebook group if you want to find out about o

Thank you and thank all the contributors for being there at the hardest part of my life. Losing my identity and facing the task of rebuilding was very nearly insurmountable.

Informal meetup to chat. This is a weekly event. The place is big, the best way to find us is by joining the local facebook group so you know who to look for. https://www.facebook.com/groups/lasvegasmormonstories/ If facebook isn't your thing, I will be wearing my Jack Mormon Coffee shirt and am fiftyish, largish and beardish if that helps. We are putting together an email notification

I'd forgotten that about JS and BY. Mine doesn't say pure, but it does say: "You are descended from Ephraim and the great household of Israel. You are a descendant of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. That noble blood runs through your veins literally, for you are a child of the seed as well as by an adoption because of your relationship to the Gentile nations" I find that paragraph so

I've heard lots of advice--only date a nevermo, only date an exmo. Just like leaving mormonism--do what you feel comfortable with. Its not like you are getting married, right? Date both types. You will learn something from each kind. It depends where you are at right now and it will change. If you date a nevermo while still obsessing about moism, it might freak them out after a while and

I read somewhere that it was part of the new england cultural/religious milieu that mormonism grew out of. I think either Brigham or Joseph's brand but can't remember which. Anyone know? I also remember hearing that it was related to the possibility of "evil spirits" having influence over you when you are out of control like that. Must remain pious at all times or else stan is gonn

If you have real intent, ask google. For verily google giveth to all people liberally. If you can see through mormonism surely you can figure out internet forum shorthand!

I'm busy until Saturday...come saturday, its my only day this week. I can guarantee you they won't come. (hint: Saturday is the 1st) What you really need to do is learn how to start respecting not only their time but more importantly your own and politely but firmly reject this kind of non-sense.

There is a secret xlds singles facebook group, seems like most of them are in Utah. Go to the meetups in Salt Lake and get involved with the in-person groups. Join meetup.com go on the activities that mormons wouldn't like happy hours, hiking on sunday, etc. There are all kinds of meetups, not everyone in SL is mormon.

It is nerdy internet forum shorthand, you can ignore it. Ziller is great though and did totally beat me to my immediate response to the original question: The Book of Mormon.

Found out Native Americans migrated from China...Book of Mormon done. Found out JS couldn't read Egyptian very good...Book of Abraham done. Proving how he did it or speculating why is interesting but irrelevant. Since his books are contrived it follows that his religion is false.

29. Re: DNA
The link is from the wrong time period, its ancient and refutes the bom and really the entire traditional christian view of the world. DNA shows we all came from Africa, wrap your head around that dark skin hating mormons. Ok, so they stopped hating as much in 1978. The best thing I have ever heard refuting the BOM is Michael Coe's interview in Mormon Stories.

I think it was here that I read about a former mormon apologist who was also a Star Wars guru. Anyway, he was arguing some Star Wars plot holes with some other apologists, saw the illogical mental gymnastics they were using and then went: "hey, that's exactly what I do with mormonism..." Oops. Another exmo was born.
