I went through the same thing recently. Big cuts at our company. I was very lucky to find something quickly, not everyone is.

I ran into a member today in the store. We are in Europe so we got on the subject of travel. Here's where it gets fun....and of course by fun I mean bat shit crazy. He tells me not to go to Spain, since they have bull fights. "You know that's how it all started for the lamanites. They practiced most of the same things the Spanish did like bull fights and that's why they have so much carna

The length surprised me as well. We had just finished a big project and were waiting to be released from work. I work as a graphic artist on a lot of military projects. When they are released from work, we sometimes have free time on our hands.

I was in a discussion in my office the other day that went for over four hours and included both the topics of politics and religion. We got on the topic of social programs in America and how, in the eyes of my co-worker, they were going to destroy us. He said we shouldn't have to give our hard earned money to other people when they won't work. I then asked him how he justified that point of v

Not too long ago there was a post about Smith's father possibly having been affiliated with a religious movement prior to mormonism. I can't recall the details, but there was a very small entry about it on wikipedia. I'd like to look at it again but forgot to bookmark it! Does anyone remember or have a link?

I'll have to agree. Certainly this could in no way be considered a misuse of the power. You are demonstrating that there is in fact a god, that he has bestowed power to you, and you are trying to bring people to his kingdom. No one is being forced to believe, you are simply providing evidence for your claims. You couldn't keep people away from the church if this happened. So what are the excu

Just tell them what you told us. You made a mistake and wish them well. Keep the book to use as a coaster for your coffee.

So I've spoken with a few members. They all think they can save me despite the fact that there is a better chance of me becoming a Somali pirate than a mormon again. Still, I applaud their effort. So I wanted to ask a few things that keep coming up. Anyone want to field these: 1. "Gold Plates" - I always bring up the "gold plates stating that they would have been far too heavy.

I always wonder how far they would go. They know the truth is killing them, so I'm sure trying to get some laws on the books that classify sites like this as "hate sites" would be wonderful for them. They disgust me.

21. Nope...
After I left, I wanted to make sure that I looked at everything from a skeptical standpoint. Too much pain was caused by just accepting what I was told, so I'll never do it again. It made anything even remotely connected to religion easy to leave behind. I know it's not that way for everyone, but that's just my experience.

What about hydrogen slowly being pulled together over millions of years to create stars? What about the fusion process that creates helium for fuel in those stars? What about the the eventual collapse of those stars which creat

How does an organization "morph" in the internet age? Any move they make that moves them from their roots (and don't get me wrong I can see them doing this daily) can be more and more harmful...right? Since members can easily see a well documented history of constant change. Maybe I'm just being unrealistic and assuming that they actually have some integrity and actually want to know
