Just think if an AI used only church-approved training data? It would be like having your own GA who can answer any gospel question.

Could have used the pepperbox to make his suicide by mob more convincing. And the church could be true. The air was thick with rumors, so no wonder weapons were smuggled in. Joseph said he regretted starting polygamy, which hints that he knew things didn't look good. Apparently, Joseph wasn't quite ready to meet his maker. So it seems some lambs don't like the slaughter to be one-sided.

Has the Q15 been made more toxic by him, or did they choose him because they were toxic? Or was it a discernment failure they don't have the guts to correct?

Will the AI report them to their bishop? Maybe the church should develop its own faith-promoting AI to protect its members from folks like us.

"fraud, deceit, adultery, black magic" Thanks for bringing this up. Practice of black magic often ends in insanity or death, which adds an interesting dimension to Carthage. Marrying all of those teenagers in his last few years should have been a clear sign he was off the rails. Apologists will say the church is okay now, that it magically turned good. No, it just got better at hi

It's a sign that America protects a certain class of stupid. You can successfully sue for damages caused by other kinds of stupidity. Just not the religious kind. Huntsman may have accepted a "burning in his bosom" as justification for forking over tithing money, then changed his mind. It's not a scam if you scam yourself. He would have needed a slam dunk if he was getting anywher

Justification is finding a reason for something you want to do. Luigi was justified in his own mind. Society had other ideas, which happen to be codified in laws. So, he was not legall justified. Yet there is a segment of society who see him as justified. What if we put it to a vote and he won his freedom through referendum? Would that be democracy?

BY was the dictator of a territory outside the jurisdiction of the United States. I would call him an outlaw and genocidal colonialist. Like a Pancho Villa of the IMW but with real ambition. However, having 56 wives was clearly asking for trouble. It only took one who was handy with arsenic. The Smith family long suspected BY of having had Joseph's brother Sam poisoned a week after the mart

You lost me at the end. Why would incels like a guy with 56 wives? That's more of a pickup artist thing.

But wait, maybe Joseph did kill himself to get there. He just used a mob to do it. There's such a thing as knowing too much.

According to the Milgram experiment, which has been replicated many times, all you need to get someone to kill (2/3 of the time) is a lab coat and a clipboard. We are all conditioned to obey authority, so that is the result. It's only by dumb luck that you weren't a concentration camp guard or a participant in My Lai or one of many similar massacres that weren't reported. Not everyone gets to

"He tried to warn them, but they wouldn't listen." It's just like when Lehi tried to warn the people of the destruction of Jerusalem. Marlon Brando as Jor-El made for some great acting along with some nice irony considering Brando's personal life.

"Show us one example of a peer-reviewed scientific study that you have cited in any of your 2,371 posts on RfM." Isn't that similar to "We thank thee, Oh God, for a prophet"? It's so tribal. Peer review is a gatekeeping process that doesn't even work. The journals are full of research that can't be replicated. "Anti-Mormon" literature is not peer reviewed. I suppo

Does consistently wrong count? If Thoreau doesn't satisfy your yen for Zen, I shouldn't try, but... Science and religion could be yin and yang poles of one system. Both seem to be evolving. Inquisitions and witch burning are in the past. Maybe we exmos don't have so much to complain about after all.

Let's go, Brigham! ASU fans increase faith by feeding the Mormon persecution complex. BYU students should also say "F the Mormons" because their prophet told them Mormon is Satan's word now. Somehow the 17 previous prophets missed that one.

"but such malpractice is very rare" Except when it's the norm. Any heavily regulated profession has immense pressure to follow norms even when the norms are obviously corrupt. Everyone who works at a hospital knows how hospital billing works. Do you see them quitting their jobs in protest? The fact that dissenting doctors who successfully treated their Covid patients are losing th
