Considering that Joseph Smith "received a revelation" to sell the Book of Mormon in Canada he probably thought it would make him lots of money. Nobody bought the copy right to the Book of Mormon so Joseph gave himself more power and authority with each new revelation he made up.

The word race (in regards to racial identity) doesnt appear at all in the chapter or the Bible at all. The word race in the Bible is used like "to run a race".
