I am in northern Maryland, within 12 miles of the Mason-Dixon Line. A week ago the National Weather Service had us under a tornado watch. Fortunately no tornado hit but Cockeysville Maryland got golf-ball-size hail, which did a lot of damage. At our house we had three inches of rain over a 24-hour span, with localized flash flooding. Finally June 29th was a perfect summer day -- high

Stupid laws such as only allowing 3.2% beer. I live in Maryland and there is an alcoholic beverage store about 1/2 mile from my house. The store is open 7 days a week and of course the beer is the real 5% variety. I don't think I could ever revert back to drinking 3.2% beer.

In 1958 I was 19 years old and I had been an atheist for 5 years. I went completely inactive. At that time there was no such thing as "resigning" one's membership. That didn't become available until the 1980s when a disgruntled member sued the Church because they would not allow him to resign. When I went inactive my faithful Mormon parents knew about it and they accepted it. My

I suggest that you work on getting some balance in your life. Eat a healthy diet of food. Get at least a half hour of good exercise each day and over time work up to an hour per day. Take up yoga and get help with yoga from a well-recommended professional. Buy a Kindle or tablet and try to read for at least 30 minutes each evening before bed time. And wean yourself off the sleep drugs. Your

The Book of Mormon is the cornerstone of the Mormon Church. The BoM describes events that allegedly happened over two thousand years ago. Archaeology is a branch of science whose purpose is to study such ancient history. Encarta (online dictionary) defines it as "the scientific study of ancient cultures through the examination of their material remains such as buildings, graves, tools, and

So you are having major problems that are caused by the CoJCoLDS. Do you want to keep quiet and pass those same problems on to your children? If you come out now and tell your wife, maybe she will learn the truth, namely that The Church is a fraud. Wasting a large sum of money in support of a fraud, is a huge, egregious waste. Does your wife love you only because you are stupid enough to remai

20 mile bike ride in rolling hills of northern Maryland -- lots of hill climbing. When I lived in SLC Ut I typically rode to Alta or Brighton. Occasionally I pedaled up the hill to Brighton, then walked the bike over Twin Lakes Pass to Alta, and then rode down to SLC. That was a hard but fun trip.

I have been rethinking this issue and here is what I have come up with. One of the main purposes of this BB is to assist active Mormons in transitioning out of that religion. Many people first find this BB via a Google search. Finding a BB that is entitled "Recovery from Mormonism" sounds enticing. When an intelligent adult Mormon first visits this BB they expect to find serious

DW and her friend were driving in her car one night and they inadvertently went into the west Baltimore ghetto. They soon figured out that they were lost and that they were in a bad section of town. Then they saw a police car at the side of the road and they stopped behind the car to ask for directions. The police officer was a black man and he quickly spoke up: "You really shouldn't

I don't know if you are a "dog" person -- I am. I love dogs and have had one for many years. If I were in your shoes I would get a pit-bull puppy (8 weeks) and raise it as a house dog. I would give the puppy a lot of socialization, especially from age 4 months to 8 months. That means taking the dog out in public with you and letting it meet new people. A socialized dog will p

My brother in law was raised in the Church and served as a Bishop for many years in multiple states. He received his MBA degree from the Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania. He worked as the CFO of a major U.S.-based corporation and he traveled the world on job assignments. He was most definitely not a moron.

From an article in today's Baltimore Sun newspaper: "The 43 homicides in May were the most in a month in Baltimore since December 1971, when the city had nearly 300,000 more residents." This was black-on-black murder, but let's not beat around the bush. The simple fact is that when a city has black ghettos with high crime rates, white people should not go there. A white person w

I find it highly annoying when posters use the spelling "MORmONS" It makes the post difficult to read and it is a rather juvenile practice. RFM is supposedly a high-class bulletin board and the use of "MORmONS" detracts from that image. I suggest that the board administrators put that word-spelling on the forbidden list and not allow it to be used on RFM.

It is truly a major tragedy when a young LDS missionary dies in a traffic accident while serving their mission. The CoJCoLDS is a scam and is not what it claims to be. From that perspective the mission is a total waste of time, energy, and money. But now let us examine some important facts: (1) The missionary made the choice to go on the mission. I was BIC and I chose to not go on a miss

The loss of life and property is very sad. So many Texans still think that god is watching over them. IMO god is missing in action.
