it has been my experience that very few people who are happy in marriage cheat. I had a very good friend who was in an unhappy marriage a few years ago. her husband was a control freak who worked in Alaska and was gone for weeks at a time. he would write down the mileage on the cars to keep track of how far his wife had driven while he was gone. when he came home he would hold inspection of t

I was really shocked yesterday. the new bishop is a young guy, a few kids and a wife who has been compared to june cleaver. he has lived in the ward a few years, elder. he is not rich, not blood related to the first person to turn soil in town. his first counselor is the one I thought would be bishop. this may be a bad omen for him. this is the 3rd time he has been passed over. I guess hav

everyone seems to think it will be the guy who lives in the million dollar house. his grandfather was the first bishop and his father has been stake president. they own the local bank. the meek may inherit the earth but its the rich that get all the good jobs? I'm not certain bishop is a good job. listening to sinners and complainers all the time. oh well, better him than me. the only real

it was ward conference today. it was boring on a higher level. instead of church I thought I was in a sales meeting and the stake president was trying to give us all a get out and make more sales talk. the problem is the man, while nice, is dull as dirt. all the people around me starting leaving one by one. when I woke up and noticed I was all alone I took the hint and left as well. the las

9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; 10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. 11 And all the angels stood round about the thron

I have looked over the list and I have to say sorry. these women are not cool. they may be a lot of things in this life but none of these 100 have made an impact on my life with the exception of marie Osmond and I had to sit thru her boring Christmas show a year ago to make my wife happy. who ever made this list has wasted a lot of time .

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by

if stake presidents and bishops would read he new testament, study the life of the Savior, try to be like him, stop running the church as if it were a business, so much pain and suffering would stop, church members could heal their lives and we would all be the better for the effort. they seem to forget that in the early days of the church excommunication was for those who refused to repent, not

summer wrote I find it interesting that the Mormon church has this ritual meeting at the end of each year in which individual members declare themselves to be full, partial, or non-tithe payers. Since members undergo separate meetings during the year for temple recommends, why is this extra end of the year meeting necessary? my point is that bishops don't give temple recommend interviews

I have decided I am not going this year. it is no longer important to me to declare to a bishop who cares more about money that my spiritual growth. he has no time to see me for a temple recommend once every two year but makes time every year to make certain I have paid up. its as if giving money somehow equates to being spiritual. no more, not every again. this will give the bishop more tim

I wanted to become a mason in California. once you are put up for membership the first thing they do is send two guys to your home to speak to the wife to see if its ok with her. that was the end of that, my wife would have none of it. I have been sorry every since. since I am not dead I hold high hopes of being a mason one day.
