I've heard and read that COVID19 testing is severely limited. But here's what we experienced here in Utah County, during the last two weeks. In early March, I came to stay for a few weeks with my son & his family, to help with his transition to a new job, coupled with the resignation of their nanny. I.e., I became the "nanny." During this time, my son's health had become p

It is a picture of four brains, going from dark to extremely bright: 1. Less active 2. Inactive 3. Apostate 4. Unruly child

(Forgot, I can’t post an image here.) Apparently, Uchdorf has referred to us apostates as unruly children. Well, I am glad to finally know who I really am.

Would it be possible for you to team work shifts? I mean, find someone who can work in your place for a couple days, and then you work in their’s. I don’t know if it’s possible, but it’s a thought I had.

She’s in Alamosa. Very small place - looks like it’s about as far south in Colorado as you can get, close to the border of New Mexico. I would guess that she’s pretty virus-safe there, but her family probably could use her help back home in North Carolina. Another relative of mine has a missionary son who has already come home early from the Philippines, due to the virus. Someone told

I really don’t know, but I’ve always thought she was in the Denver area. They do move around occasionally.

IMO, ANY release from an LDS mission would be honorable.

I’m not real close to her or her family (10 siblings!). She writes a letter weekly on the website for missionaries; I read it occasionally. This week, she talks about not being able to touch animals, or a hug anyone. She adds that at least she can read the Scriptures. I feel like telling her: “Why don’t you go back home to NC and help your parents and your 10 siblings deal wit

If we keep on hoarding toilet paper, it’s a sure sign the end is near.

School’s out for the day, at the recently opened Taylor Home School Academy (THSA) in American Fork, Utah. We have only 4 students (2 7th graders - twins, 1 3rd grader, and 1 in Kindergarten). All 4 have their own computer to attend classes remotely. They are all better and faster typists than I, and they can easily and quickly navigate to almost any appropriate screen. Here at THSA, we have a

I wonder if JS used the example (at 3:42), but reversed it, to get his 40+ wives. His P value must have been lower, since it took him a few years. :-) Thanks, this brought back high school algebra and college stats classes, long forgotten.

I’m alive & well, thanks. I’m in SLC area visiting family. Wasn’t expecting to be home schooling my grandkids - started today. Crazy times. The earthquake made me feel right at home.

The GA said (wrt homosexuality) "this an issue of doctrine, and it's not going to change." Well, Mr. GA, there were "doctrines" of polygamy, and "doctrines" of anti-black racism. And those doctrines changed. So how do you know that the "doctrine" against homosexuals won't change? Smarter than God? HA!

Elderoldog, I sat on the next-to-the-last row of cushioned pews, on the left bank. My daughter and SIL sat with me. We didn't speak to anyone else. After the meeting, we went to the back of the chapel where there were other gay friends of Scott's, as well as Scott's family members. I stayed in that area until we all left. I never saw anyone fitting your description, although I did loo

Yes, it DID take a lot of courage for Scott to speak. He was nervous at first, but soon gained confidence & spoke his true mind & heart. I would not have agreed to give that talk, but I was glad he did it. My daughter & husband both said several very positive things afterwards. She doesn't think being gay is a sin, and is hopeful things will change in the church and in the world

Those of you who know me personally, or from previous posts here, will know that I'm a gay, non-believing former member (excommunicated 30 years ago) of the SLC-based LD$ church. My main gripe with the them is their blatant child abuse: they willingly teach their young to publicly lie about the "truthfulness" of mormonism. Second is their relentless collection of tithing from membe
