I was texting with a friend last night to see if she wanted to spar over the latest gaslighting (new essay's) dropped by the church. She was busy but gave her normal disclaimer statement of beliefs and asked why I don't just leave it alone. Instead of just letting it pass, I decided to challenge her statement of beliefs which were: 1. Joseph Smith saw god and god. I asked her why she be

I have a rule. I never lie to anyone that has not lied to me. Once you lie to me, all bets are off (and I am probably better at lying than you because TSCC taught me to lie so well :))

There is no one way to success. And success is not necessarily defined by your bank account. Anyone who says anything different is selling you something.

The funniest for me was they let "Losing My Religion" by REM and "More Than Words" by Extreme play at every dance in the 90's. No Jesus Jones songs because he was named Jesus though...

When talking to TBM's, or people who go to church for appearances I am happy to talk about any topic they bring up. But everyone I know is aware that the facts don't care about their feelings and until my wife is out, either of the church or of our marriage, I will share the facts eloquently and loudly with no regard for their feelings. My favorite topic is pointing out the obvious and fr

I will miss her. Her thoughts and how she stayed in a mixed faith marriage helped me off the ledge a couple of times.

Me either, although my frank conversations with my many TBM friends have not made it any easier for my DW to leave. The running joke with my wife's Stake Pres. is how the deck chair re-arranging is going on the Titanic that is the TSCC

Letter is blowing up testimonies. My brother is currently at the “it’s full of lies phase”. I told him to stop trying to prove it wrong until he has his wife up to speed on what he is doing and learning. The poor guy. He has been a super Mormon for years, I don’t know what is going to happen if his shelf collapses.

While I do not think they will increase tithing, I will tell you the church is definitely hurting for cash. Most of the "changes" that have been "revealed" in the past decade have been cash-flow related. Get more coming in and less going out. I think someone commented before, and I will concur, that they will put pressure on members to pay ahead in tithing if they want t

Artificial since 2010. Just gave away a $900 Pre lit 15’ tree when we downsized homes. Also gave away 18 storage boxes of ornaments and 4 6’ pre lit wreaths. Don’t miss any of it, but DW is miserable. We bought a 8’ LED pre lit tree this year that should last the rest of our lives. It’s beautiful.

Either works depending on the person :). But jesus-jumpers fall into two main extremes. The nice strangers that come up to you to make conversation, and then jump to talking about jesus. the actual charismatic church I went to once where people were jumping and flailing about. It was quite a show. Everyone else is just a jesus-hopper? But I like alliteration.

This. Any prophet who explains and justifies his prophecy and looks to add third party validation, does not believe the prophecy or in his ability to prophecy in the first place.

We had a non member come up and call us all assholes in a rambling 15 minute rant once. The member of the bishopric who let her rant said it was good to make people uncomfortable sometimes.

Thanks Angela. I know they are not. And I know she can only free herself. But there is more going on than I am willing to discuss even mostly anon that makes me believe the cracks are there. And I am cautiously optimistic. I have been down this road before. I just want her to see without the burlap sack. It is bright and beautiful.

Excerpt from the instructions accompanying the announcement to the leadership which can be found at: https://www.mormonnewsroom.org/multimedia/file/service-mission-letter.pdf "When the stake president is unsure if a candidate could serve a proselyting mission, he may discuss with the candidate the possibility of being called to a two-transfer mission,1 a service mission, or being h

"In some cases, candidates will be honorably excused from any formal missionary service" This is the only sentence that mattered in the entire pronouncement. Because it makes not going on a mission non-shaming, and allow kids not going on missions to go to the temple sooner. The temple is the only place to enforce revenue. I predict 90% of all missions worldwide will be service mi

Follow the money. Always. Chapels do not provide any measurable ROI. Temples do. There is a finite and ever decreasing amount of funds available. 2 hours = 5 congregations per building, or 4 with no overlap.

LOL. Unfortunately for Nelson, that genie is not going back in the bottle. My DW newest garments are damn near sleeveless and show more cleavage than I thought possible. The women are the only thing keeping the ship afloat. Make them wear long sleeves and gloves, they will revolt.

A few of you here know me and my DW, so it is with some trepidation that I post. But I am so excited for her. So those that are still connected with my DW, please do not say anything until she comes to terms with what she is thinking....what I think she is thinking. With that said, my DW's shelf has finally broken, or at least suffered catastrophic (i hope) fractures. She has always gon

Nope, BYU works. The Mormon rebranding is the results of a small minded man getting power and getting revenge on those who opposed his ideas. He dropped to two hours but the hammer is coming down on tribal Mormons. Get in or get out.

I believe that Mark Hoffman destoyed Hinkley testimony and he made a conscious decision to continue to propogate the lie of the church because he thought the good outweighed the bad.

When asked if he was a prophet, Hinkley answered “the members sustain me as one”. In other words, no. After the internet’s exposed the multiple versions of the first vision Hinkley said: “That is the way I feel about it. Our whole strength rests on the validity of that vision. It either occurred or it did not occur. If it did not, then this work is a fraud. If it did, then it i
