Missionaries spend about 1/4 of their time knocking on doors, 1/4 of their time trying to engage "inactive" members, 1/4 of their time on computers, mostly on youtube, and 1/4 of their time at church playing basketball, with members, eating, and generally wandering around, doing nothing constructive other than wondering what they are doing and why. Today in U.S.A.

It is worth more than the paper or digital form it is written on. ChurchCo needs more worthwhile examples of truth from it's (former) members.

They could have flown home for that. Just ridiculous! ChurchCo wants it to be hard on the mishies, families and the poor door answering public. Surely they had to call collect, because the CHURCH-MP didn't want a $20 phone bill. Sick - breaking families.

Early and current Mormons seem to like 180's. They are just like everybody else and act as though and think of themselves as revolutionary/ different, pure/ clean, whole. Whatever

She is out. What is her problem? Coffee is not porn. Let them gossip. Get it out in the open and then deal with the fallout. Many of us have to deal with it for the rest of their lives anyway. DH is right for wanting a normal life. Hope all goes well.

I had heard, but a fine of only 5000 dollars? G? For such a large church with so much cash & so many assets, that is less than an average individual page for tithing each year. So, the church does this illegal, immoral stuff and only one of its members pays for it? All of its members pay for it. Slap on the wrist!

Mormons believe anything (ET says). They believe "the church is true" and it all rolls downhill from there.

Good decision. Oh yea- Stand up in Fart and Test-a-crowd meeting and share your "test-a-money" that __________ (fill in the blank)... Next month, show up at a different Ward and say you're visiting and share another testimony. Continue each month until your ex-communed. You would have followers. It seems the letter is quicker though maybe not as enlightening.

Print out the email letter (or simply email it) and send it in to assquarters. When the bishop contacts you say yes I am me and yes I know the consequences and I still haven't changed my mind-heart. You should get an email or letter a few weeks or a month or so after that.

Church-family events like this are deplorable... 10 minutes in and I think I too had to be out. What a story! I'm glad that wherever that camp is it was far enough from the house we didn't have to go.
