So sorry to hear about the ongoing effects. Hair loss sounds like a small thing. It's not. Sending peaceful wishes.

Even vaccinated nurses are having breakthrough infections--like me. We need hospital nurses. We could have a lot more that are willing to do that very difficult work if we called out the hospital management for chronic understaffing. The motive for chronic understaffing is not a shortage. That's a myth. It's greed. I don't know what to say about nurses who won't get vaccinated. They a

Your ordeal sounds much worse than mine. I haven't taken an aspirin in decades, but I'm going to have one of the people who have offered to help bring me some aspirin. A blood thinner makes sense. Thanks for sharing your experience and advice.

Thanks everyone. I was really sick last week. Sore throat like I've never had as an adult. 102.4. Rotten cough. My rapid test was negative. I went to a provider who said it was sinusitis. Which it was, but that was an outcome, not the reason. Earlier this week, I noticed that A) I was still feeling crummy and B) my food was smelling funky. I do rapid Covid tests in my health office.

I might have been the first regular poster to get the vaccine. I had the first dose of Pfizer vaccine in December and the second in January this year. I'm a school nurse so getting exposed is inevitable despite my mask wearing best efforts. I've heard good arguments against offering boosters, but I was/am going to take one if it's offered. People who think not offering boosters is an

Yep. The preschoolers were a bit here and there. Some kindergarteners just couldn't. My special needs kids were intermittent. The others just forgot they were on. Me too. --Dorothy--school nurse preschool through 5th

I would absolutely tell him not to visit. The vaccine isn't perfect--and he sounds insufferable.

I got a new car not too long ago and your post made me realize I'd be hard pressed to figure out how to get the fob to release the key. Necessary knowledge for sure.

Financially, it's difficult being single. After 35 years of marital bliss--not--I'll live (relatively) poor and alone thanks! I used to be so afraid of being old, poor, and alone. Not so bad actually.

It's not off topic at all. Having been an "all in" believer, that realization that I was lied to was a very big deal. My ex-husband is a master at lying by omission. We'd been married 20 years before I figured out he often drank alcohol on his business trips. When I did figure it out I confronted him about other potential things that happened--like infidelity. He denied

At my school, I'm the one who gets to try to remedy the dress code violations. I'll get a call at 1:10 p.m. "I am sending a student for a new shirt." Me, "What's wrong with her shirt?" Them, "It's showing some midriff." Me, "Is it causing a problem?" Them, "No, but it's violating dress code." Me, "School is out in 50 minute

I was a "progressive Mormon" before I became ex Mormon. I sat on the fence 15 years. It was very uncomfortable. Conflicted--miserable. Highly don't recommend.

I'm a school nurse who hasn't caught ANYTHING from the sweet little germ bags I work with. Thank you masks. Seventeen months without even a cold. I'll be sad to see masks go.

It's obvious you think talking to ex Mormons is the same as talking to Mormons. Sorry I asked. You win.

But you didn't ask Bednar. You put the topic to us. The part about faith and healing is interesting. The racist bit is so tired. We get it. They never will.

I don't understand why cancer and racism are together in the original post. Is there a connection I'm missing?

People who do bring up my daughter often apologize for bringing it up. It's always up, I tell them. My daughter died by suicide 14 years ago. A broken heart still beats.
