We aren't survivalists but we do grow our own produce, raise our own meat, and have converted to solar energy. My parents had "food storage" that consisted of food that was inedible, cost a fortune, and eventually had to be thrown away. I can, dry, and freeze the food we raise. Some things have to be purchased - I do buy flour, sugar, dry beans, rice in bulk. Fruit, bread, milk I

They just parrot phrases they have been conditioned to repeat. They really don't know what a Christian is.

Maybe god isn't a loving god. That would explain a lot of things in this world.

I hope you find a woman who adores you, who understands you, is supportive, and is your partner in life. Someone that you feel the same way about. If that person is attractive that would be a plus! However, that shouldn't be the only criteria for a spouse. Be selective- it is way easier to get into a marriage than to get out of one.

My TBM SIL "home schools" their children. She was home schooled. She cannot figure simple sales tax, knows nothing about history or current affairs, birth control.....the list is endless. Yet she is allowed to teach kids the basics that you need to understand to make your way in the world. The whole lot of them couldn't find their own butt if you gave them a map, flashlight, and pla

This morning my 15 year old son asked my husband that question. DH replied "I hope you find someone to love and have an amazing life like me and your mom have." Son - "Would I have to leave here?" DH - "What?!?!? Why would you have to leave? You can't help who you are attracted to, or love. We have your back no matter what. Being gay isn't as hard as it used t

Mine might be rated-X ! I hope it is, and that I get to see all of my freaky TBM family and friends expression when they realize that I was never a Mormon in any way, shape or form!

I will be running a free food program for low income kids so they won't starve while school is out. Bible School in June. Canning. Hopefully will be able to grab some pool time.

I cooked for the week (ham and beans, fried 50 corn cakes, made a meatloaf, baked a turkey breast, froze a pan of stuffing, made breakfast burritos, and homemade biscuits with ham) - finals are this week and I will be busy. Now I am watching a Harry Potter movie with kiddos, enjoying the beautiful evening with my family. This time tomorrow I will be hand grading the first round of 100 ma

I live in rural Kentucky. The closest town has an LDS branch. There are lots of other churches including 17 Southern Baptist churches, two Catholic, and others too numerous to include. On a typical Sunday there are 10-20 cars at the LDS church lot.

Being fake in every thing you do. Pretending to be friends with newcomers. Gossiping. Doing the "right thing" even when it is the wrong thing.

I have officiated 5 marriages in the last year - 2 in churches, 2 outside, and 1 in a sports bar! (The brides "side" then out drank the grooms "side" in a tequila challenge). It is great fun. Unlike my temple wedding that was a nightmare cult ritual that I will never forget as long as I live.

Do you want fries with that? Customer: there are maggots in this sausage patty! Me: OMG!!!! Show me! Customer: see these little white things? Me: yes, that is fat from the sausage Customer: no! Those are maggot eyes! Repeat a variation of this conversation 10 times a day, every day I worked for 2 years.

DH and I told the kids we were going to watch a movie and take a nap in our bedroom on a Sunday afternoon. Later DH called his dad because my FIL had said he was going to stop by to show DH a new rifle. My FIL explained that he had in fact been to our house but that one of the kids had told him we were busy - daddy is bouncing mom naked on the bed - and he didn't want to interrupt!

I was telling DH about your many visitors. My daughter gave this suggestion: Tell him to open the door and take a leak right on their shoes. That might be just the thing to get rid of them!!!

My mom would not have pi%%ed on me if I was on fire. Now my priesthood holding imbecile brother? Mother would have gladly took his place and been executed for him irregardless of his crime.

My twin brother and I did this years ago (1980). We had saved enough money for two plane tickets and $400 extra. We left with a small suitcase and that was it. Went from SLC to Kentucky - didn't know a soul. It was HARD and it was SCARY. On the flip side it was liberating and worth every hardship we went through to be away from our psycho mom and the effing Mormon church. Good luck to you.

Two of my kids had confirmed cases of the flu the first week in November. My 16 year old son was so sick he asked me if he was going to die. He had never missed a day of school up until then and he was out for two weeks. My daughter was over the worst of it in a few days. Take care! I hope you recover quickly.
