This BuzzFeed list written by Tom Chivers is very inaccurate. #1) It isn't unusual that he would bring foreskins because it proves the person was dominated and is easy to transport unlike an entire head. Plus the person only has 1 foreskin so it couldn't be 2 parts of 1 man. #3) It is as if the person who wrote this list never actually read the passage he is calling strange. The passage says

Why do we need men to be "living prophets" when we already have immortal prophets roaming the world? They must have been really busy because they didn't even bother showing up for the grand finally Joseph Smith was setting up. The problem is that the reason Mormon Jesus granted them immortality was to preach the Gospel to as many people as possible yet Mormons claim that the Gospel was

What is telling about this conversation is that the Missionaries didn't care that your testimony came from a dubious source. They didn't care that you practice magic and are a pagan. They just went with it. How can an organization exist while ignoring its principles at the same time?

My advice would be to bring up strange beliefs of Mormons such as the belief that Laman and Lemuel were cursed with a skin of blackness in 2 Nephi 5:21. "And he had caused the cursing to come upon them, yea, even a sore cursing, because of their iniquity. For behold, they had hardened their hearts against him, that they had become like unto a flint; wherefore, as they were white, and exceed

Mormon Jesus also gave John The Beloved immortality in D&C 7:1-3. "1 And the Lord said unto me: John, my beloved, what desirest thou? For if you shall ask what you will, it shall be granted unto you. 2 And I said unto him: Lord, give unto me power over death, that I may live and bring souls unto thee. 3 And the Lord said unto me: Verily, verily, I say unto thee, because thou desirest

Mormonism is a radical departure from Christianity. Their founding story, the first vision, speaks for itself. Read Joseph Smith History 1:19. "I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt; that: 'they draw near to me with their lip

If you assume you have the truth then you will never find it. A bit of a problem that we all encounter as we grow. The intelligent are aware of the problem and are diligent in their efforts. The ignorant fools are self satisfied with their self delusion. Proverbs 12:1 "Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish." Proverbs 15:32 "He that

Just think about it for a moment. Why write a book in a language that you know no one else can understand? Mormon 9:34 "But the Lord knoweth the things which we have written, and also that none other people knoweth our language; and because that none other people knoweth our language, therefore he hath prepared means for the interpretation thereof." Or you could have just written

1) The Jews loved their language of Hebrew. They always wrote scripture in Hebrew because the preservation of the meaning of their words was just as important as preserving the words in their scriptures. Even the Book of Mormon blamed the Reformed Egyptian for errors in their texts. Mormon 9:32-33. 2) The supposed reason why Reformed Egyptian was used was to save space on the plates. The exact o

If you are serious about the Do Not Contact order then you need to document each visit with a picture with a time stamp or record your conversation with them on your cell phone. After awhile you will have enough evidence to show that you are being harassed. With a large amount of evidence you could easily say don't come back or I will sue. With that evidence you could win the lawsuit.

@nonsequiter You are right. A resigned member has to talk with the Stake President or the Mission President (if there aren't any Stakes in the area) to approve the re-baptism.

1) I don't think this Anon post about going back to Mormonism is genuine. 2) Does re-baptism remove sins? I mean if I get my records removed then wait till I am 65 to get re-baptized then does that mean I am clean again? Seems like a great deal. That way I don't have to pay all the tithing or listen to the non-sense my whole life. Plus I get to skip the baptism on my behalf in the Temple later.

Not only did the Mission President read our emails and incoming mail through the LDS International Mail System but he also demanded that every companionship give him a key to their homes. The Mission President said there would be random inspections. The Mission President or his assistants could walk into your home while you are out working and read your journal or go through your personal belongi

I think the stone in the hat thing was common knowledge in the 1800s due to their culture being more accepting of it. People like David Whitmer mentioned it in writings like An Address to All Believers In Christ and eye witnesses like Emma made note of it. The problem is that the LDS Church stopped mentioning it because it is a part of folk magic. I heard the rumor that the stone is actually

It probably depends on how faithful he is. The mission President ignores the faithful and spies on the unfaithful (for their own good of course).

It is interesting that Joseph Smith would use such an obscure reference as the Urim and Thummim. I searched the term in the book View of the Hebrews and found that it was in there a few times. It seems that Joseph Smith copied this idea from other popular authors of his day.

Do the workers have to pay 10% of their income to get the privilege of going inside the temple to renovate it?

The Urim and Thummim in the Old Testament was used to answer yes or no questions. For example is the person guilty? Yes or no. It didn't give paragraphs of text, find buried treasure, or translate strange languages as Joseph Smith used it. The Urim and Thummim is an example of cleromancy. It was a way of getting a yes or no answer to a simple question. Urim and Thummim are opposites like Yin and

One time when I went to the Assistants to the President's house I found a box full of letters. This was strange since the letters were addressed to and delivered to the actual mission office. They sort the mail there and when a missionary goes to the mission office they can retrieve their mail. I went through the box at the APs house and found some letters addressed to me. I know they were withho

Joseph Smith did write himself into the Book of Mormon. Read the header to 2ND Nephi Chapter 3. It says "Joseph in Egypt saw the Nephites in vision—He prophesied of Joseph Smith, the latter-day seer; of Moses, who would deliver Israel; and of the coming forth of the Book of Mormon. About 588–570 B.C." Plus Joseph Smith wrote himself into the Bible in his version of the Bible (JST

Victor Arden Barnard started a religious group called the River Road Fellowship. This religious group met in a rural part of Minnesota and kept to themselves. Victor Barnard is accused of starting a "maidens group" of about a dozen personally selected teenage girls (as young as 12) that he treated as wives in the most literal sense. This came to light after Victor Barnard was accused by

I think anti-Semitism was common in the 1800s among Mormons but now it is uncommon. Many Christians resented the way the Jews treated their religious ancestors and Jesus Christ himself. Christian White Supremacists claim that Whites are the real Jews spoken of in the Old Testament and that the Jews are impostors (or that the tribe of Judah was an evil tribe). Thus the White and Delight-some peopl

The Urim and Thummin was used to "translate" the lost 116 pages of the Book of Mormon. I think Joseph Smith was upset by losing the 116 pages and figured he better not waste time with gimmicks this time around.

That is the Mormon way but it isn't the Christian way. Romans 1:20 "For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:" Romans 1:20 says that everyone in the world can see the existence of God through their own being and environment.
