Good for you for standing up for your son. I left before my boys were old enough for this kind of abuse and one of my reasons for leaving was the thought that someone might ask them about it and try to instill guilt for being joyfully human. The book Changing Bodies Changing Lives would be an excellent resource for your son right now. Good luck and give that bishop hell for his pervert

No one in my house would care if they knew I was on RFM. At the moment youngest son is on the phone with oldest son discussing election returns and ocasionally running to me with updates from the website youngest is on. I am trying to remember the last time an actual mormon was in my house. OK - I remember - it was 2003 when an aunt was here for a wedding.

I was brainwashed enough to give money to a cult. I got less income than I would have had!

Glad to hear you have one that makes you proud. Trunk or treat Saturday AND trick or treat on Sunday. Sounds like a weekend long sugar high!

It made me stop and think. I spend a good bit of complaint time dwelling on the fact that I married a month after my 19th birhtday and by age 24 I had three children under the age of four and all in diapers at once for a little while. What might I have done with those 5 or 6 years? Frankly I don't know, but when that youngest was a year old I returned to college at BYU. Three years later I

She was from maybe China - ok I forget where, she was Asian and ultimately we were not able to hire her, but I digress. I collect miniature cows and cow related stuff and sometimes they are grazing amid the professional stuff in my office. Adds a touch of silly that ANY workplace needs. So this woman asks me why I have cows. "I just like them," was the best I could come up with.

But it is way easier to meet here where we both live. My email is mksnow@comcast.net. Send me an email about where you live in CT - I'll bet we can get together in less than a 2 hour drive each instead of a 5+ hour plane trip.

He barely remembered who I was, but that he said he recalled, "that humble home." Yup, we were really poor and the place was falling down around our ears. I let him know that I had left. He said that church was one of the most important things in his life and that he held young adult gatherings at his home every week. I mentioned that church was very important to me as well and

I have for many years been in the habit of writing up a report from the Sunday services at First Parish UU church in Chelmsford, MA as a way of celebrating not being a mormon. And here it is – just not appearing on a Sunday. So the 8 people who were reading this on Sundays and who wonder where it has been for so long – it will appear randomly, not necessarily on Sunday and probably not ever

It is your body. My third son's favorite quote (from whom I don't know) is "If god didn't want us to masturbate, then why do our hands reach our genitals?" Interestingly it was not wanting to instill guilt over sexuality that really made me want to not raise children the cult. One evening I was reading a bed time story to then 5 year old oldest son. He had his hand down his pants

Hi Virg - I am in Massachusetts. I joined the church as a teen in 1974 in the tri states area (Newburgh Branch at the time - I assume you mean NJ, PA, NY). Anyway - I wanted to suggest that if you want to meet area exmos just pick an easy to find location and a time that works for you. Post something here about when and where, maybe provide an email for more info, keep topping it, and see

First Parish was officially back up and running after a summer hiatus last week. I sometimes wonder - if mormons took the summer off from church activity – would they come back in the fall? Our usual suspects and newcomers were all in place. From now until October 24 I am the adult leader for a group of 10 8th grade students. This means that while those over 18 attend the worship service,
