Yes, although, it appears that both mormon men and women are more passive-aggressive than the general population. https://www.sunstonemagazine.com/passive-aggression-among-the-latter-day-saints/

If you have considered starting your own business, or otherwise being self employed, you can open what is called a Self Directed Solo 401K.(you can also set it up as a Roth Solo 401K) It allows a lot more flexibility and control over your investments and includes investment options such as real estate, and physical precious metals. You have total control of your money, total control of investmen

DH and I have been married for 31 years. We were married in the SLC temple. The temple portion of the wedding was a disaster... waiting for late/rude TBM family members, all of our little nieces and nephews had to wait outside, the temple matrons kept wanting to re-adjust my dress, the old man performing the ceremony was incredibly boring. We made the most of it, though. We rode to the rece

I'm so sorry, Suzanne. Ladell's suggestion is thoughtful and beautiful. Just being together sharing old memories, and making a few more new ones, would be a heartfelt gift for both of you.

I was just being facetious, DK.... :) I agree with you that some food storage practices are not practical in a real emergency. In Hawaii, I only keep 72 hour kits, extra water, and my kitchen cupboards full of nonperishable food.

My DH was building an addition to the Salt Palace and watched that tornado go by right in front of him. The tornado hit the *Meganacle* Conference Center that was under construction. DH, who was TBM at the time, said the tornado was a sign of God's anger that the church was like the Nephites that had become materialistic and built the Rameumptom. (Really, DH's company had bid on the Meganacl

Yeah, I know...it is beautiful there. My farm is in Washington - he was going to Oregon, and mentioned I-84. The only Trout Lake I know of in the area is a pristine lake with a primitive campground in the Mount Adams recreation area. That's why I questioned him... huh? Troutdale is in Oregon about an hour up I-84 in the Columbia Gorge. We're close to the I-5/I-205 junction in the Salmon Cree

Women playing dumb is certainly a trend in my DH's TBM family. However, it has been my experience that it is the men with fragile egos that are intimidated by an intelligent woman. My mother-in-law was a disciple of the book, "Fascinating Womanhood." Although she was highly intelligent, her husband was the kind of man that needed to feel completely superior in every respect. He was, a

This chart shows the strongest winds, 90 mph, of Hurricane Iselle smacking right into the Big Island and Maui. http://www.prh.noaa.gov/cphc/tc_graphics/display_probwinds.php?stormid=EP092014&latest=y#prob34 Twenty two years ago, hurricane Iniki was tracking south of the islands and was expected to pass by. Suddenly, and quite unexpectedly, Iniki took a ninety degree turn North and sla

Yes, very interesting... and surprised that there was no mention of Elijah Abel, who was ordained as a seventy, received his temple endowment, but was denied by BY to be sealed to his wife. Elijah's son and grandson, as I remember, were both ordained as elders in the early 1900s. How does TSCC reconcile these priesthood ordinations of black men with their doctrinal bigotry?

My DH is a bona fide Dowser (aka water witching) as was his father before him. I've even been able to do it (no kidding)! The divining rods are made out of thick wire and can locate underground pipes, underground streams etc... It really does work because of electromagnetism. They have a construction company and this has often come in handy to find the exact locations of existing pipes before c

It is not a Mormon term or issue, far from it. http://www.askmen.com/dating/love_tip_400/404_love_tip.html That is just a site called Ask Men. Food is also a *need* and yet there are a lot of disorders, even addictions involving food, such as anorexia, bulimia, obesity etc. and it is not unusual for these disorders to involve a abstinence/binge cycle as well.

From what the OP has stated, the issue in their marriage is pornography. That is what the therapist will then focus on. That his wife doesn't like it, and he does, has brought about sexual incompatibility and dishonesty. If he expects the therapist to help his wife understand and even accept his use of pornography, and how important it is to him, the therapist will need to understand his use of

You want help with ideas on how to justify keeping your porn habit with the expectation that it is your wife who must change to accommodate your sexual behavior. Your porn habit is more important to you than your love for your wife, so much so, that you have no consideration for her feelings. You will keep secrets, lying, whatever it takes to fulfill your *need* to look at porn. Ideally, marr

It is your husband's responsibility to protect you and your children, even if that means protecting you from his own parents. He has aked that you visit them once a week while he is away. I was the gospel doctrine teacher in a predominately Polynesian ward in Hawaii. One Sunday, a close Samoan friend of mine came up after class and asked me to explain what 2 Nephi 5:21 meant. Even as a TBM, I didn't give much credence to the racist cursing that TSCC spewed out, and as the gospel doctrine teacher, I always managed to conveniently leave out those verses in the lesson. Now, here was

This phenomenon has become common place in my DH's family. it used to be only one or two family members mentally on the fringe anyway. However, over the past few years the family has had several young relatives pass away, including my own son, and suddenly everyone seems to be clairvoyant! They even describe themselves as spiritual mediums. The clairvoyant activity increases substantially a
