Holy shit. Just heard the new TV commercial for their new Krabby Patty Kolob Burger. I about crapped my pants. I thought "WTF-Mormons are getting their own Hamburger? No way!" Turns out it's their new Krabby Patty "Kollab" Burger, whatever the hell that it. Crazy! https://www.irwendys.com/news/news-details/2024/Were-Ready-Wendys-Celebrates-25-Years-of-Nickelodeons-Spon

No. That would stop the ability for everyday mormons to judge each other, separate the chosen from the gentiles and gossip about fellow ward members.

Oh good! More neighborhoods and cities to piss of and sue if they don't let them force their church Costcos into their neighborhood. Plus, Price, Utah? There's a whole 6500 people there. They have 1 McDonalds. Now, They'll have a 1:1 ratio of McDonalds to McTemples.

That's how I think. Someone should try that. Or maybe, many do and the church quietly pays to make it go away.

Yes, grief can make people think wrongly. But he wasn't grieving when he decided to continue to take a beating from "his" church for all those years, while he was with his partner. I agree, he needs counseling from a real, non-religious counselor.

"Proving that the family member didn't know or completely disapproved of the church's activities when that person had been a church member all of his/her life would be a very tall order indeed." Yeah, but what if their children weren't members and knew nothing of the church practices? Times have changed since Packham's opinions, laws have changed recently. I'm asking if elder abuse l

I agree. But can it be used by family, that lost an inheritance to the church, in court? And further, can the law enforce elder abuse laws against them?

Many states now have laws against people taking advantage of the elderly. Many times it's abuse and lack of care from family members and often it's also pressure into signing financial documents that they don't really understand. They will convince them to put their lifelong earned finances in a Trust managed by them and they pilfer from that trust. They will get them to rewrite their will, benef

I understand that. That's why I was asking. If he just quit his job, it was probably because he got caught doing something nefarious. If he quit the church, he probably wised up and decided to stop tolerating the bullshit. The OP didn't make it clear about his level of quitting.

Did he quit the church or just the job, sorry, "calling"? If it's just the job than I agree with Moe, either an affair or financial crime. Keep us posted. More Deets!

"The Mormon church has evidently made the decision to keep pumping temples out at as brisk a pace as possible." And as cheaply as possible. I've been in nicer Hilton Hotel lobbies that are nicer than them, although I think LDS Inc. ripped off their design. I'm betting a 4th grade class can draw a better design than these new ones.

"I think Nelson has figured out the church has enough money and power to fuck everyone over. Their Jesus brand will not compromise in any form. They don't care if their temple design breaks existing building/zoning codes. LDS Corp like Disney is absolute corporate power. They will get their way." Unfortunately, I think that you're right. They're at the point now where they're too b

Yep. I can prophesize better in Texas than "the" Prophet. People, that have grown up proud, honest and with grit are going to push back. Just not in court where they know they're outgunned. The payback will be ugly.

I grew up in Texas. Just got back from a 4 day trip in Houston. "The" church is getting increasingly aggressive and bullying in their McTemple building campaign. What they don't get, but soon will, is that people in small town Texas and other places the church is forcing their crap, are going to push back. They are out gunned by church lawyers, church bankroll and church PR garbage, but

Plenty of evidence, or I wouldn't have written that. From the SL Trib; "Originally from Peru, the Ordóñezes emigrated to New Jersey before coming to Utah about a decade ago, according to Yeraldine Calderone, Belyruth’s close friend. She said Belyruth served a mission in Texas for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints several years ago and was living with her parents while at

They have PSA's and posters everywhere. If you do go out, hydrate before, even if you have to force yourself to drink it, drink at least a pint of water every hour. And most importantly, leave at dawn and be back in the parking lot by noon. When my wife and I go on long hikes (more than 2 hours) we bring airline bottles filled with pickle juice and bring fast food mustard packs in addition to our

Funny that my Mom's old church , Clear Lake Presbyterian is also included in that for being a Red Cross Center. I worked at City Auto Parts on Main Street in League City in the late 70's. There wasn't much there then. I did have to go to Clear Creek HS for my freshman year until Clear Lake HS opened the net year.

No, they won't. They never do. No unclean heathens allowed in their sanctuary. Where in Houston. I grew up in Clear Lake and we had a total of 7 mormons in our High School of 2800 kids. Nobody knew what a wardhouse was or where it is. The good part is that those Texans take care of each other. They don't need and help from churches, their friends, neighbors, family and strangers will help each ot

Nothing will change. "the" church runs Utah and all the top levels of Utah mormon government. The will make tens, if not hundreds of millions selling SLC property in this deal. If it's a bad deal for Utah taxpayers, it's a great deal for LDS Inc.
