Boner! Things are better than "well". My wife is still TBM but defends my right to be me, as I defend hers. Oh, non-faith promoting story: I just had a TKR March 13. Right knee. No Priesthood blessing. I am doing incredibly well recovering. In most aspects, I am ahead of "schedule". Medical science seems more than sufficient!

Late December 2015 I submitted a post that eventually was archived on the Main page. It can be found here: https://www.exmormon.org/Am-I-recovered.pdf Subsequent this post, in March 2016, I was excommunicated. For a single FB post. Granted, in that post, I declared Joseph Smith to be a fraud and provably so. This violated my promise to my ecclesiastical leaders (described in that archived pos

That's got to be the sick branch of the Holt family. I don't know if or how I might be related, but this whole thing has me SMH.

Having unfixable lower back issues, one replaced knee, and with the other scheduled for replacement next March, I enjoy the occasional soak in my jetted tub. :-)

Truth has been debated endlessly. Fact, however, is provable. Fact: Joseph Smith, Jr. was a fraud.

No. Science is a method. It does not change. How one views, alternatively included, is just observation.

My wife and I saw him in concert only a handful of years ago in Dallas, TX. Davy Jones and he were double heading. We had front row, stage left. David Cassidy had roved to our side and, shading his eyes a bit, looked at my wife and I sitting close, holding hands, with stupid blissful looks on our faces (I imagine!), and he smilingly mouthed the words, "Very cool!" Helped make our

Okay, on a serious note. A while back I made a post that got archived here: http://www.exmormon.org/Am-I-recovered.pdf The answer to "Am I Recovered?" at the time was probably "Not yet, but close." It's still the answer. No, I don't frequent RfM much. I do drop in to see what my friends are up to and I'll wax smartalecky, as is my wont. But this is a great place to be

Speaking as one who 'infrequents" rather than frequents this site, I think I have recovered from Mormonism. My tack now is to help the recovery process in others, if I can. So I still pop in from time to time. Just not like I used to.

Tom, I have read so many wonderful posts from you, many of which helped me in my journey. It is a journey. An individual journey. That said, we're still not alone! My journey has never been fraught with fear, anxiety, or depression. Was I never fearful, never depressed, never anxious? Certainly, but those situations passed quickly. I have a logical turn of mind. I am a Software Engineer, after

#Ponderize Which makes more sense? Bonus points: Think about the ramifications regarding each. -> Thousands of gods with thousands of religions. All are real. -> Out of the thousands of gods, one god is real. That god is the one you are following. The one your parents taught you about. The traditional god. -> You were mistakenly following the traditional god of your family bu

In spite of a 12 year stint in the DFW Metroplex, no. We didn't get there until 2002. I hope that means both us "Bruce's" are good guys!

I'd offer to support your efforts at education (spiritist and Henry Bemis) in other threads but I fear it would add heat to the backfire effect already in evidence (there's that word!). Besides, you are eminently qualified. The illogic on display is astounding. Your logic, though, is impeccable. Keep up the great work!
