Dave, Where did you read that? I have been searching and can't find anything to substantiate Utah being a low IQ state. It seems to fall in the middle of the states in most of the studies I've been able to find.

I never liked the following verse, it is found in Mosiah 3 Verse 19: "For the natural man is an enemy to God, and has been from the fall of Adam, and will be, forever and ever, unless he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit, and putteth off the natural man and becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord, and becometh as a child, submissive, meek, humble, patient,

I admire Hitchens and his work. I would recommend "The Portable Atheist" for everyone. "God is Not Great" is also a very enjoyable read. I would suggest that you give them a look. Also, check out the debate between William Lane Craig and Christopher Hitchens on YouTube.

Madalice, Your husband is a very kind man, I would've refused to pay for the others. Your story makes mine seem like no big deal.

Today I went to my SIL baptism. The whole thing was awful, I was angry as her mom and aunts stood and cried, telling her how proud they were of her decision to be baptized. How manipulative and confusing for an eight year old girl. Made me glad to have left the church five years ago. Anyway, at the end of the "service", her father invited everyone to join the family at a nearby resta

Alpiner nailed it. I have two younger brothers that just graduated from BYU in accounting and both have been recruited by reputable companies and offered $65K + right out of school. I'd say it's viewed favorably by the majority of employers.

I gave my dad a copy of "An Insider's View" as I too had heard that it was once sold at Deseret Book. He called his friend who was/is some sort of VP or higher up at Deseret Book. According to his friend, it was never sold at Deseret Book. Long story short, my dad never read the book. Rather than actually read the book and examine the evidence, most mormons would rather just see if

Heidi GWOTR, Get a glucose monitor! Rebeckah is right on. A close relative of mine was diagnosed earlier this year and checks his levels twice a day. If you can keep a food journal, you will learn exactly which foods spike your levels the most. Track your glucose and make sure it is in a healthy range. Type II Diabetics generally need to eat something similar to the Zone Diet. A ratio of

I was in Mexico and had little self perception. Tons of people, mostly girls would pay attention to me just because I'm white. The title was never that important to me. I hated stats for the very reason you mention. I thought I was wasting my time in the MTC and then after being in the mission for 3 months I quit following the program and the rules and pretty much just enjoyed

T-Rex, Any chance you were in Mexico? Several of the things you listed were commonplace in my mission as well as others. Luckily the gun situation didn't exist in my mission though.
