I am financially independent of my parents yet I still find them criticizing my decisions especially my financial ones (like me taking loans to pay for school, I still have to even after scholarships, financial aid, and 2-3 jobs). In reality, they have no leverage over my decisions, but in my mind, I feel like some how I still have to listen to them and if I don't they'll be able to control me so

It does depend on WHICH school and WHICH degree you get. For a school like BYU or a general type degree you don't learn much, however a degree in hard science teaches you fairly good critical thinking skills.

Does a mission look good on an application/resume when trying to apply to a good business school (MBA program) at a top notch, non mormon university? I mean I can portray it as sales and leadership experience. I just don't want it to count against me somehow.
