ElderOlddog asked, "...Is it like a rule irrevocably decreed in the heavens that real mormons don't waste time on pets? I can see where pets might be considered completely extraneous to the process of salvation and exaltation. After all, there are no instructive stories about Jesus Christ and a puppy or kitten..." After taxes, tithing, fast offerings, numerous kids, supporting s

Elder Old Dog, you probably didn't receive one because you confused them. Instead of being white and delightsome, you are brown, delightsome and entertaining and horror of horrors, you probably even indulge in loud laughter which does not fit well with their beliefs.

Wish it was just another phishing scam, I can deal with them, but I find it rather upsetting to hear from a cult that obviously stalks its former members even after 43 years. A cult that shouldn't have my email address and could not have gotten it from the only family I have left, my children who all resigned from the church they couldn't stand.

Forty three years ago, long before the advent of the internet and email, I was ex-communicated from the Mormon Church. Since then I have had no communication with them whatsoever until this morning when I received an email from them which reads in part - "The Church of Jesus Christ <info@e.churchofjesuschrist.org> 4:03 AM (5 hours ago) to me Important information about your Ch

In reply to Maca above - Yes, our lockdowns here in Oz were strict and some non compliers were indeed punished, especially those who flouted the law and infected others. However we still had the freedom to go out singly or in family groups for exercise, to go grocery shopping, seek medical treatment and care for others. In my neighbourhood there were street concerts where families sat in t

If by some remote chance my two late husbands made it to the Celestial Kinkdom (whoops spelling mistake, but appropriate), then I would happily let some other women have them. However I guarantee no woman would want to keep either of them after a few years.

The mormon church is like a "Rolls Canardly." It ROLLS down hill with falling membership and ridiculous teachings and CAN 'ARDLY get half way up the next hill due to lack of public interest.

Well it could have been a lot worse for us if the rabbits had been able to join up with the emus, but we outfoxed them there and erected a 3256 kilometre (approx 2023 miles) rabbit proof fence. As for the koalas, they are always too drun

Hi Elderolddog, Faceboook has put a blanket ban on all Australian news, including government, health and charity pages. From what I can gather it is their response to our media demanding that Facebook pay them for using anything newsworthy. Now, according to the Sydney Morning Herald, a senior Facebook exec has apologised for blocking health and emergency sites. https://www.smh.com.au/bus

You have been given some excellent advice from several RFM board members. The following excerpts from their answers will give you a good idea of how the Mormon Church now sees you and how you can get them to leave you alone in future. As Lot’s Wife advises – “You can be firm without being rude…You have nothing to feel awkward about, nothing to apologize for. S

A couple of nights ago I was watching one of those ten minute time wasters on youtube when an ad came on. Suddenly I was watching a thin faced elderly man smirking at the camera and saying in a soft creepy voice, "Let me give you a prescription..." Yes,it was Dusty Rusty. How on earth can TCOJCOLDS give thanks for having such a non predicting laughing stock as their prophet? B

OK,I made a joking reply to stillanon about writing WW11 instead of the perfectly acceptable way of writing it with roman numerals. Nobody is perfect and we all make mistakes. In fact I think you too have made a mistake in saying that not seeing operators is something I have tried to rectify in seeing conspiracies. Would you please enlighten me as to how you have come to that conclusion as

Hope you had a very good reason for missing those history classes! But then again, maybe it was not a matter of you missing history class, more a matter of me missing elementary maths and not seeing that 1 +1 without the plus sign makes

My most vivid childhood memory of WW11 was when we were living in Kalgoorlie Western Australia and had a semi underground air raid shelter. (Think they may have been called Anderson shelters). Once a week mum would go down into the shelter to give it a sweep out, get rid of the cobwebs and change the water bottles while I waited outside. One day she had only been down there for a minute or so

Like you Lindy, I'm also a bit frustrated that I can't travel out of my state. Not only that, there are also restrictions as to where I can travel within my state. I miss being able to just pack a bag, hop in my car and drive across the world's longest golf course to see my son, daughter-in-law and grand-children in the West. I miss being able to pop down regularly to Melbourne for a day or

I have no idea how factual the claim is that 100,000 Scots were sold into slavery. However, what I have discovered through 30 years of family history research is that some Scots were indeed transported to America and the West Indies as slaves. My earliest known Scottish ancestor William Niven (Nevin) was one. William Niven was a Covenanter who was imprisoned for attending an illegal conven
