How many of you here are currently attending or have attended one of the church-owned schools and have met students and professors who don't believe that the LDS church is true? What is it like going underground?

kolobkate, I read your other message board about your situation. First, own responsibility for your position. Correct me if I am wrong, because all I know is what you have disclosed on the previous board, but you worked yourself into it. You are in financial trouble because of your decisions. Regardless of the who is at fault, you must own your problems, take control and do whatever is in you

moremany, I am a no-mo. I am also an investigator of TSCC for the past 8 months and I've reached out to ex-mos for answers and insight into TSCC and its culture. The paying $25/month was just an example. I'm thinking $15/month when I actually do it. But tell me, how can I go about getting it for free?

If you go to BYU Secrets on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ByuSecrets/ and scroll down to #538 on December 12, 2014, someone got baptized after coming to BYU just for the cheaper tuition. And above that, there has been sexual activity in dorms, as well.

I just wanted to see the celestial room and sit in for an endowment ceremony. I'm going to be polite and respectful, of course. After I get the TR, I'll just go "inactive" and use my TR for the 2 years it is good for before it expires.

You know, with the way things are with the church now (Mormon Leaks, church history, LGBT just to name a few), I might as well just have my fun (politely, of course). I posted in another thread: http://exmormon.org/phorum/read.php?2,871221 about cheating the TSCC system in tithing just to get a temple recommend. I won't do it now since I love everyone at the family ward I am attending as an in

badassadam, I was under the impression you left the church. If you could cheat the church's systems withut paying thousands, why not do it?

Don't bother with it. Don't take any more calls or mail from the ward and don't get back in touch with them. Simply write a polite resignation letter to the church HQ in SLC and have your membership removed. You don't need to trouble yourself over it.

So, you sat inside the bishop's office and lied through it all? How much were tithing then? This may seem much easier to pull off than I originally imagined. Did he ask any questions that you had to fabricate answers to regarding tithing? I'm doing it for the same reason as you, and I also wanted to try going through the endowment ceremony.

I'm going to digress a little here --- when missionaries are assigned to learn a foreign language, say Dutch, what level does the MTC train them up to (beginners, intermediate)?

The church lies, why not you? You know, I've always had trouble trying to find a woman leaving TSCC with an active temple recommend so that I can borrow hers. So, I can get away with paying $25 a m

Encourage him to see someone to help him reshape his perspective on a horrible college experience. I am sorry he felt lonely and left out. A lot of the people who didn't befriend him lost an opportunity to get to know someone and experience a satisfying friendship with him. It's not his fault. He didn't do anything wrong. He was just living by his principles and character.

Pretty much keep it short and to the point. Be polite about it, as well. I had a friend who had his name removed last month. It took about 3 months.

Lynn Wilder (an ex-mo) shared with me that she has met a lot of women who have been abused by priesthood holders. I would think that a lot of abuse that occurs at home stays at home - can't ruin the "happy family" stereotypical Mormon image.

*confetti* One of my friends in Ivin, UT has become a proud apostate since February when his attorney got the church to remove him.

Clever. So, while petition for a divorce and walk out on him, resign. Don't tell anyone where you're moving to like I said before. You don't want calls from bishops in your new area. You definitely do not want people getting into your personal life and business either.

Are your parents are helping you pay for it? I'd say to hold off on telling them until after college, unless they're not orthodox.

117. Nosiness
Why is it that everyone in the Mormon church, especially the bishopric and the SPs, are so nosy? Where in their standards works (and the Bible for that matter) do they think that they have the authority to stand in between man the God? Why is everyone's personal lives everyone else's business? I couldn't be a member of this church.

Highly possible, I would say. There are very many people who are leaving the church. Before they leave, why not try something against the church? I would think someone who was miserable and finally sees the light and/or angry with being duped would pull that one of TSCC.
