That is hypocritical of them because people attack their faith and call it a work of charlatan, a false religion, a cult, you name it. But not all Mormons are like this, of course. I guess it depends on where you live. I don't live in a Mormon state, so the Mormons I meet are more open-minded. I went to high school with two Mormons whose bffs were no-mos. One of my Mormon friends resigned and one

64. my aunt
My aunt made the mistake of marrying the wrong man. Not only that, she transferred ownership of HER home to his name. A couple of years ago after Christmas, we went over to one of our relatives' place. My aunt was at church....most likely praying that the Lord rid her of her husband.

I believe I remember some people mentioning that California wards seem lax and laid back compared. I get the same impression from the family ward I am at. I guess it depends where in California then.

I believe you can safely assume that if it is very close to the borders of Mormon land, then yes, there are lots of Mormons.

The creation of different Christian denominations originated from the original Christian faith alone. Like Mormonism, they just came up with rules, doctrines and all, and then put a label on it.

Maybe they don't accept you because you're not active. But why would that matter? Your husband pays a lot in tithing money. Shouldn't they even think about reaching out to his family? There was a woman in the family ward I visit who had a baby. Everyone was encouraged to sign up to bring a meal by.

I'm glad you made a thread about this. Today while I was sitting in sacrament meeting, I was pondering this: Seeing that the Bible has archeological and historical evidence to support it, could it be possible our predecessors created the Bible as a work of cross cultural fiction? I don't mean any disrespect towards Jesus. Your cousin's theory actually holds merit.

Every religion has two-faced people. It's not about the religion itself, it's the people.

I'm sure not all aspects of the LDS church was bad. It benefited you in many ways. Think about the things you are grateful from your experience as an LDS member and brush off the deceitful aspects of it. Other than that, I am glad you are making peace. You most certainly deserve it and you owe it to yourself.

>but gosh darn it my goal > is to see TSCC shrink in real terms in my > lifetime! And you may live long enough to still do that. Do you have any idea how many people have resigned after learning about church history and its foundations? Approximately 30 percent of SLC is Mormon. We'll leave it up to anyone leaking information to Mormon Leaks regarding actual numbers of resignati

You know, I never thought of it like that. Yesterday, I read a post on RFM that there were going to be 5 LDS temples constructed and the first thing I thought was "for a church that is 'true' and boasts 15 million members (and shrinking) they are planning to construct 5 new temples around the world." I knew something was funny with the picture and now that you mention it, you may be rig

78. Nope.
The family ward I visit still has their cleaning supplies including the vacuum. I attend Institute in my hometown's ward chapel and they still their theirs, as well. It sounds like your ward is trying to contain costs because they don't have a lot of money.

getbusyliving, perhaps her 17-year old cousin has been hurt in the past by someone. Maybe even felt rejected. I know he hurt your stepdaughter, but it is wise to forgive him. Your stepdaughter didn't do anything wrong. He didn't hate her either. It wasn't personal.

I'm a no-mo and I genuinely enjoy the 3-hour LDS church services. I especially enjoy asking provocative questions (politely, of course) every now and then in gospel principles and institute.

If the BoM was the work of the imaginations of JS in an attempt to inflate his ego and make a name for himself, everything in it that he fabricated and plagiarized (and then twisted) is all a blunder when you add the 10% tithing, temple ordinances and rituals, and the time, talents, property, and abilities of its members to the LDS church.

I read Martha Beck's book "Leaving the Saints" and learned just how costly it would be to discuss disbelief and doubts if you were a BYU faculty. Some of them had to be careful where they talked about it, as well. I watched a Youtube Documentary on a channel called "iamanexmormon" about a BYU Idaho ex-mo student who knew a lot of professors and students like him who didn't bel
