Yes a woman can hold her baby. I passed the bread and water in a blue shirt all the time. I saw women wear pants to church, Believing that telling a woman that she can't hold her baby during a baby blessing is somehow "inequality" that should be angry about is like loudly calling out burkas when Islam still kills rape victims. Of course a woman could hold the baby, but if she w

I am not a fan of John Dehlin. I think he is THE most mormon exmormon alive. I think he still looks mormon(not a real problem, just annoying) and has the same condition/ personality/ belief about people who don't agree with him, on ANYTHING, as he did with non-mormons when he was mormon. He doesn't like people who don't agree with him and won't acknowledge any other opinion as possibly having

I haven't been on the board in YEARS. I left Mormonism in 2003 or so, had my name removed. I have a friend from high school who left mormonism and then reactivated in the last 3 years or so. The LDS were horrible to her when she returned. Disfellowshipped her and made her think that all her complications in life were only because she went inactive in the first place. I listened when she wa

JAR- THANK YOU for time and heartfelt response to my last post!!! It means a lot that a stranger would take the time to research and post what you did! I went to a "mega church" yesterday. The pageantry was something that needs to get used to but the message was relevant and Jesus centered. I AM angry and distrustful. I don't want to be. I faked my Mormon-ness, convincingly, for s

Also I think the Mormon church has nothing to do with Jesus. Not in the same way mainstream Christianity is.

I'm not happy. I'm not progressing in my life. I'm trying everything I know to get better. I'm reading all kinds of books, I'm trying to eat good,I'm exercising, I'm volunteering, I'm trying to meet new people.... I still feel stuff is missing.

I haven't posted on here in years. After leaving TSCC I briefly tried other religions before deciding I was an atheist. My life isn't working though. Nothing dramatic, I just need more and have really been thinking about returning to Christianity. We all know we can't judge all religion from our experience with the Mormons. What has your experience been like becoming Christian?

Screw the "people worse off than you" bit. You hurt, your pain is relevant. I am sorry you are in pain. I know the nerve damage pain and it isn't pleasant. Vent away.

My name is Jay Burris. I was baptized into the Volcano Cliffs ward in Albuquerque NM in 1995. I went on a mission to the Philippines Bacolod Mission in 1996. I attended the singles ward at San Diego State (the 18th Ward I think) And the Kailua Ward in Hawaii when I was in the MArines. I also went to the military ward on Camp Hansen in Okinawa. I finally left the church around 2003.

WELL, yeah...But I can say that about a lot of things that I have done that don't make sense. Like college. Anytime our path changes, the part the doesn't overlap with the new path is obsolete and wasteful.

Just a fun game. Most of us were told of Santa's constant spying. What is the difference? Coercing children into a certain behavior is expected and good, and not in the same league as the church doing it. If it makes kids behave then why not?

I was in a bar once with my home teaching companion. We were doing shots when a guy came up to us and asked: "Hey aren't you guys my old home teachers?" We were indeed.

She could be. Three years is a long time for a mormon to date and I think the poster would have mentioned a religious belief had it been there.

I am a vet who had a diagnosis while still on active duty. Always seek help when you need it. However, it is also smart to go into any situation with eyes wide open. First- Know that it has been mine and other veterans' experience that they treat you like a malingerer.(faker) Let this role off your back. I can't get anyone to admit it but I think this is policy. *Read the paperwork subm

That is really creative! A lot of hard work was put into that. They are trying hard to get the young to stay! Its so sweeeeeeet. The message was barf inducing, too bad those women don't have better things to do with their time.

Why is it ok? Who made you the authority? Who made anyone the authority saying it is bad? Who made anyone the authority for anything? Why can't we have it both/all ways? People aren't inherently bad because they don't like the act of homosexuality. They are just who they are. I don't think they should judge by one simple thing but I don't think gays should expect acceptance. They should ex

Really? They don't know that? One can't turn on the tv or go on the internet without seeing a major Hollywood star talking about that exact same thing.
