You are feeling guilty and projecting. Marriage and sex have nothing to do with each other. It is a construct imposed by religion to trigger control and minimize out of wedlock births. Your guilt and shows that. People have been getting down since day one. Marriage or not. Abortions, happiness, fidelity are not in any way exclusionary to pre-marital or marital sex. Yuo have created a const

Temple marriage is so inspiring, the videos so touching and you can't possible disagree, unless you know the truth. If you know the REAL purpose and history of the temple marriage and if you REALLY know how those eternal oaths have changed and why, then you cannot believe it. The same with the church's charitable donations, wonderful, unless you look at their finances. Same with JS and

I had the m show up demanding to talk to my teens. I was like nope, they were yeah but I am the bishop and they are on the roster! I said I don't care which neighborhood wizard power you have, they are minors and I am their dad and you leave now.

One of my least favorite Mormon features is that they claim to both know the answer while claiming them not knowing anything fir sure is an exciting feature of the religion. in between, they take every stance in every position for every topic, while having an unchanging gospel.

I realized this week, while I was visiting with another ex-Mormon, that, sometimes as exmos we retain the ability and the arguments that hold mormonism together. I have found that instead of arguing what the word of wisdom was really about, it is easier and less burdensome to realize that there is no Word of Wisdom, given to anyone. Same with Polygamy, the plates, Mesoamerican Jews, the origin

How, you ask. Because God said to have as many kids as possible to turn Utah into a state and to have men and women burdened to the point of breaking to bring about the kingdom of God...and to make you know, more tithe payers and missionaries. in 1993, heavenly father read an article in TIME magazine about how damaging this practice was and hoe it was riving depression, poverty, xanax abuse

Well in this time of war, disease and economic collapse, the prophet, ser and revelators gave the world what it really needs: platitudes. Using the adamic language (heartsell) he was able to paint a picture to simplify all of the world's problems into 3 easy to remember emotional steps, all three steps, usually something like: "Find the hand of the widow, look for the smile of the chi

In the holy of hollies, in the upper room of the SLC temple, accesible only through the stairway in the celestial room there is a book. This sacred book has only one phrase. Whenever a prophet, seer and revelator finds themselves in need of inspiration, they go to this sacred scripture. After a session, which includes days prayer and fasting, the prophet will kneel and open up the book

hahaha oh I see. You are a member of THAT cult. Tell John hi next time he is cradling you. Ethical standard apply to all medicine not just MDs...but you could look that up, as well as what a strawman argument definition, as well as ethical standards...so. I'm not going to argue with you as all this reading could help your comprehension skills. I'd hate to trigger you to need another thera

Another strawman. Wow, you must be fun at parties. People can do whatever they want and pay whoever they want. You don't realize anything about me because you can neither understand a simple statement nor can you read. People can pay him. or worship him, or both whatever your preference is. However, and pay attention here: it is unethical to know something is bad and sell it to people wh

NO ONE IS SAYING HE SHOULD NOT MAKE MONEY. NO ONE IS SAYING HE SHOULD NOT MAKE MONEY. NO ONE IS SAYING HE SHOULD NOT MAKE MONEY. He is making money from people leaving and from people staying. That is UNETHICAL. Read this again, and again.

He is doing BOTH. Read my post. Helping people leave and helping people compromise morally to stay, in both cases, John has hos hand out.

I like you Susan. Totally agree. Because he came on the the exmo scene as the internet was dumping mormon secrets, he rode that wave for profit. This many years later, there are many exmormons that act like John was the first person to leave the church and defends him as a mormon mama bear would defend her profitable branches in the Alpine stake. He spent his earlier years trying to becom

The stories of his mission, which I don't remember enough to paraphrase, left me the clear impression that he would use his talent for personal gain NO MATTER who it hurt or what he had to support. His exit from the church left me the same impression: he was willing to stay as long as he could monetize faith crisis, creating groups to support people leaving and people staying. Unethical.

I don't want to speak for them, but the mormon transhumanists are people who are rather exited for technology changing human interactions. They will admit mormonism is mostly made up except for anything alluding to the future, space, god being a scientists, and robots. You can look them up. They have meetings and memberships. Its a way for educated people to pretend their adherence to mormoni

Its not the money, its making money from something you know its hurtful and not true. So in you lame strawman argument, I would be against doctors who tell you not to vaccinate your kids or police who also rob people on their days off or civil right leaders who moonlight as KKK.

I heard the podcast from Dhelin on mormon transhumanist. Shocking that smart, educated people can take a position paper approach to falsehoods: "Yeah, racism, non-inspired prophets, lies, child abuse, destruction of families, exploitation of women, bigotry...but robots dude!" I've know Carl Youngbood since HS and he is one of the rare people I know that is smart enough to out-s

Obviously that is my point, if it is non-historical, then its not true. By the Mormon church admitting that its not historical, then they are admitting it is not true. It cant be inspired but also made up.

Delhin has helped a lot of people. That does not excuse him from being an unhethical opportunist. You cannot both make money from confronting and exposing the church's flaws, including enumerating its fallacies. and make money from, hey if you want to stay I have a group for that too. Its not unlike being a drug counselor and a drug dealer. This ethical weakness goes way back

The recently regurgitated word salad that claims that the BOM cannot be held to be a historical book, becuase that is not it's purpose And that is is "true" cannot co-exist. The BOM goes to great lengths to explain that a lot of it a historical record, as well as spiritual. There are no allegories that would explain spiritual elephants or symbolic steel swords. The chu

Temples are the fastest way to get money to the higher ups. Most of the 12 (and their families) and many of the 70 have their hands in the construction pot. Tax free money. This is the temple game. My dad worked for LDS corp for years building chapels, the no bid jobs, kick backs and contracts to general authorities in rampant and its the way they settle with each other.

Yikes. The insinuation that whites were made to wait longer is ridiculous and a false comparison, as if that had to be said. But it speaks volumes as to the core of mormonism: when confronted with moral choices, change the question and the choices, then cast your self as the real victim.
