The college I teach at sponsored a community wide trunk or treat this year. Very festive even though it was cold. 200 “trunks” decorated, passing out everything from candy to Mardi Gras beads. Rented a pop corn machine and a cotton candy machine. Giant bubbles, bobbing for apples and donuts. Costume contest, dance contest. It was a pretty good evening.

That is so hard - to lose a pet. One of the worst days of my life was when I had to have our 15 year old dog euthanatized. I am so sorry.

20,000 people who obviously need to mind their own business and monitor their own TV - not mine. There must be something wrong with me - it never occurs to me to give a rats butt about what strangers watch or don’t watch on TV!

My mother always said that the first time she went to the temple was the most powerful spiritual experience of her life. During my first and only temple experience, I remember thinking to myself “My mother is an idiot. My parents are idiots. Every person in this room believes this? I wonder what they would do if I started laughing? Am I really expected to have sex with a man I saw in a baker

We are lucky to live where there is a drive in - last Friday night we saw the Avengers movie, tonight we are going to see Ugly Dolls and a dog movie that just came out. I am fixing homemade pizza, and cookies to take with us, as well as drinks. They have the best tasting popcorn. We go almost every weekend when the drive in is open for the season.

Never celebrated it until I was an ex-mo. As a kid I thought Easter and GC were related or the same thing. I didn’t know what Easter was about until years later. That being said, my family does celebrate Easter. My husband came from a very religious family. DH and kids go to his church regularly - and they enjoy the Easter activities there every year. After church they will go eat with my

I work with a group of people who feeds kids during the summer when school is out. This year almost 450 kids applied for lunch meals. I approached all of the local service organizations, and churches and asked for help: money, food, pre-made lunches, volunteers... The response was great - except for the LDS church. I was told by the bishop to send any of their child members who are hungry to

Yes, but unlike my parents the food I have stored is edible. It isn’t stored for the end of times either. I have food storage in case my husband or I would lose or job, or a natural disaster occurs. We put out a huge garden and I can the produce. What I don’t can is given to a food bank and shelter.

I was afraid “Families Are Forever” might end up being true. The short time I lived with that bunch of nuts on earth was PLENTY long enough.

I used the keto diet to get started, now I follow a basic 1600 calorie diet. Keto has pros and cons, but after I lost the first 20 pounds quickly it inspired me to change my eating habits and felt good enough to start walking for exercise.

Between June 1st and today I have lost 88 pounds. I can’t wait for warm weather so I can show off my porn shoulders, and a goodly bit of leg in the new clothes I will be wearing.

No. I worked in the newborn nursery for many, many years. Circumcision was the norm. It is barbaric. When I was dating my now husband we discussed this at length and with great passion - if we had kids would the boys be circumcised. This was almost a deal breaker keeping us from marrying. We compromised- we wouldn’t have them circumcised as infants, but would pay for the procedure wh

Nothing made my mother more furious than my brother and I being successful, and happy in our TBM family free, cult free existence. We both have careers, wonderful spouses, children, and meaning (at least to us) for our lives. Is my life always easy? NO, but I don’t have to worry with the trials of life AND do all the crap the cult assigned me to do. My mother, would have been in her glo

My super TBM brother had a child, about four years old, run up to the podium during sacrament meeting. My nephew grabbed the mic and started singing. My brother tried to grab the kid and grab the mic. My nephew started yelling “SH!T” over and over. I laughed until I cried. Best sacrament meeting EVER!

My mom made a Jello “ring” that consisted of yellow Jello, with sauerkraut and chopped onion in it, served with horseradish mayo. Just thinking about it turns my stomach!

I am one of the managers of a free food bank. The missionaries come to the food bank weekly. They stock the shelves, help people to their cars, sweep & mop the floor, serve food, and wash dishes. About a year ago missionaries stopped in and asked if they could help in anyway. They do take groceries when they leave but are frugal about it. If they came in just to get food that would be o

Did laundry this morning. Made apple butter this afternoon. Plus sliced apples to put outside for drying, and to can apple pie filling. Hubby and kids went to a local orchard this morning. They brought back a pickup truck load of apples that were laying on the ground that weren't good enough to sell. (They have blemishes and soft spots). These apples were free. The amount of food thrown away
