I took some non-member friends to an open house in Hawaii in 2002. I still apologize to both of them periodically.

They tried to talk me out of joining the military. Thankfully I had non-Mormon grandparents who were Patriots, a grandfather who had served, who I wanted most to be like, and some nerve to stand up to my bishop.

I didn't want to hijack the other thread about his talk soooo, The "significant disadvantage" is highly offensive to all of us from divorced parents. Obviously we cannot come out of those things unaffected, but so can children from horrible marriages. I think I have as many issues from my parents marriage as from their divorce. I had a stake president tell me, "I am so sorr

I can't think of any other reason for them to lower it than that they are desperate. They certainly are not doing it for boys and girls who will now "get" to go sooner. They are doing it because there will be an immediate small increase in the numbers which they can report as a success during the coming year. They are also doing it to control the high school crowd. Now they can t

Seriously, who picked that ugly ass blue and thing around the neck? Do they have to pay for their own uniforms? Didn't that one guy recently say that he wanted to update the choir? How about some real choir robes like in other churches.

Only thing is, when I tell people I am happy, they do not believe me. My life is going great, I am meeting goals. Mormon family members act like none of this is happening. I do not believe that Mormons ca not be happy. They can be, We couldn't be, but that doesn't mean anything about anyone else.

They can't speak or write English though. That sign is barely understandable. Just write it in German! At least make sure the translation is correct. Xenophobic? Really? There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with saying, "I live in the greatest, or most innovative etc., country on Earth." and mean it. Saying patriotic things is not saying, "All other countries aren't true.&qu

Hmm..... Thats not what I want. That is not what any other guy I know wants either. We want an unintelligent partner? Just reading this post that sounds a little bitter to me. The height thing I can see being a stumbling block but not insurmountable. I have close friends who just got married. She is 6'1", he is 5"10'. It happens. She doesn't wear heels around him which

In my experience, Mormon girls are not attracted to the peter priesthood guys.......Well, some are. As a convert I never met the priesthood stereotype. The women I did date thought this was the most attractive part of me. I wasn't a loser but I certainly was never going to be mormon royalty. I think that just like we at rfm saw how unattractive that life was, so do those women.

What is the definition of sexism? - Treating someone different because of what is between their legs and not by their abilities. Sometimes judging by someones abilities will be seen as sexist. Has your journey out of Mormonism also been accompanied by a journey out of sexism? -Thats a hard one. I was a convert at 18 having been raised by a single mother who hated men, she is hetero tho.

My anxiety ALWAYS led to depression. I take pills that work quite well for depression. Pills for anxiety are scary. Anxiety is worse.

I got pulled over, (Well kinda bc the cop was out of his car and just yelled at me and pointed to the side of the street) I had turned left on a street on Coronado CA that you aren't supposed to turn left on until 8am. I got a warning because I had work stuff in the back of my truck and because he saw my Marine Corps tattoo. (That thing has gotten me out of trouble before too)

He is really ugly. Not like, he didn't take care of himself and went way down hill as he aged ugly. But REALLY unattractive. PLUS he hasn't taken care of himself and has those huge horrendous jowls from too much salt or something. My grandparents never had those.

I think they were called "mens hosiery." 2 pieces of clothing that I do not like to share or use others', beyond the obvious, are socks and hats. It was very hard for me in the temple. It didn't matter that they had been washed. I bought my own hat and socks.

I have a sleeve tattoo on my left arm. It has some tribal flames with a grim reaper with his sickle in the background. I got some kanji on my bicep before I left the church and got the rest within months of leaving. The subject of the tattoo doesn't have as much meaning as the process of getting it. I was, in my mind, removing the shackles of Mormonism. I had been openly Mormon in the Marine

I invite them in, give them a drink, maybe a gatorade for the road. Tell them I am ex. I'd talk kindly to them. I feel bad for these guys. Even the asses are just a product of their environment. I am a soft spoken guy, but for some reason people are intimidated by me. I take advantage of it sometimes and wouldn't be intimidated by them.

First segment had a fiancé breaking up with his non-virgin future wife. Tons of people let him demean her without saying anything. One group of young men who tried to console her were ex-mormon. Not everyone was horrid mormons but the ones who were were really abhorrent.

There are some people from the Philippines I have keep in contact. None of them are my converts though. One was a supremely cute neighbor who was totally into me. We talk all the time on Facebook. I doubt I would be able to find any of them. I am willing to bet that most if not all are inactive. Most of my converts were young women. I'd like to talk to all of them and tell them that I

Many people in the mormon church will consider this the result of persecution. People in and outside the mormon church will consider Mitt's loss the result of Satan being involved. Mitt will become a modern day martyr.
