Lol so dieter wasn't even on the hijacked plane?! This story makes zero sense the way Holland tells it. We have a hostage situation! What do we do? How about we get the chief of the 737 fleet to fly around at a safe distance doing jack shit? Not the chief of the good planes like the 747s or the DC-10s! The head 737 pilot!

Fascinating stuff. I have never heard of this handwriting mystery before. I am not sure about the conspiratorial stuff, but I do think the handwriting comparison idea is interesting.

I told my wife that they absolutely get paid and she said no way. I tried to find reliable sources about it, ones that she would accept, but I couldn't find anything convincing. I showed her the Mormonthink site with Grant Palmer's interviews with a general authority and she was, to say the least, not impressed with this third hand, anonymous information that sounded frankly silly even as I w

Yes in "the real world" this action would be unconscionable. But in the world of religion according to LDS it is inspired. It amazes me how hard it is for Mormons to understand how offensive, degrading, and abusive this policy is.

Holy Hell. This man is a snake. What a sanctimonious prick. How dare he preach to people about what young people need? Especially since he is the man that is driving the anti-gay agenda from the auspices of WCF or whatever hate group. What did Jesus say about hypocrites again???

The fence made of snakes that block cattle. That has to be my favorite. The slippery treasures. Reminds me of a certain money digger I have heard of. Jesus kicking the sh!t out of the people who didn't kill him after forgiving the people who did. These people are then happy and love him when he comes to see them even though he just destroyed their relatives and friends in horrible ways.

See above. It was a pretty unfulfilling exchange. Not bad or argumentative. Just pointless.

I just replied that I think she is right, if what the LDS leaders are saying is truth, then I do find it offensive and it does make me angry. However, if what they are saying is falsehood, then I am angry at deception and angry at manipulation, which would seem to be a healthy response. I also asked who was more likely to get "offended" or "angry" when presented with new

I love this Shinehahbeam. Excellent challenge! I hope you don't mind if I try it on some TBM family and friends. But worse in which way? 1. Claims to be a real account of historical events and yet is wrong on a higher percentage of elements of material culture presented in the Book 2. Has less developed characters 3. Has a worse writing style, grammar, vocabulary richness, etc. 4. Get

Said by TBM wife to me when I was telling her my frustrations with the recent conference talks. Sure enough, it's in the Book of Mormon. So when I get pissed at the statements of Oaks, Bednar, Andersen, etc., I am fulfilling prophecy. We here at RFM hate the truth, and that's why we get upset at the church.

And now the Ballard video has been pulled from the LDS website! Down the memory hole with another gaff.

I think the take home is simple. We have a perfect little fork here: Either he really believes he ended the drought or he doesn't. If he believes he did he is a buffoon because it didn't end for another TWO YEARS. If he doesn't believe it he is a liar. I think it is a little of both.

So this came from another forum which I can't seem to get paste the link here, but I had to pass it along. It is unbelievable, so here is the body of the post from a poster named "wilberelberforth": >>>>BEGIN QUOTE "Everyone is talking about Ballard's crap about lipstick. Out of curiosity I listened to the entire talk here. https://www.lds.org/broadcas

How depressing. Yes they pay a lot of tithing as a % of their income. But they are smart to do so. They get all those free $ from the church in return. They get to be freeloaders off the church and yet maintain their idea that they are building the kingdom of God.

1. Vanity. I believe that these old men are very vain. I don't mean in looks or prowess with the ladies vain (although who knows?). I think they all want to be popular and they know that they maintain their fragile sense of self importance through the way that the LDS faithful respond to them. I could be wrong, but I think they know already that Dieter has more of the following and many other

Mormon expositor just barely posted conference reviews so they are still going to some extent. John Larsen will be posting an old episode each week with new commentary. If you want all of the old Mormon expression episodes, it is a one time fee of 9.95. I think it's worth it, especially after all the years I have listened to the guy.

This blog entry might actually help a lot. This blog post shows from the D and C and church history why the current levels of tithing the church is demanding or insinuating you must give are excessive. It is a post that you can have a TBM read because it speaks in their language and uses the church's own scriptures. I know several TBMs who found it compelling. http://puremormonism.blogspot.c

Wow. Thank you so much for this post. I had actually learned this about masonry and other guilds but had never applied it to the temple ritual. Weird disconnect in my own mind. I am so glad you laid it out so clearly.

I made the same deal with my wife, to attend church and let her raise the kids in it. I can tell you that it has never really worked. She doesn't really appreciate it. She just wants more and more faithfulness from me all the time. She doesn't really admire or respect my attendance, and isn't grateful in any way for the sacrifice it has been for me. I hear manipulative stories about how faith

1. Is it true that black people couldn't get married in the temple until 1978? Why? 2. Where did the temple ceremony come from? Who revealed it? If a revealed ordinance, why has it changed so many times over the years? 3. I heard many people feel weird or uncomfortable the first time they go through the temple. Why is that? 4. Someone told me that the things we do in the temple come f

This is the best! The fact that Oaks and Holland have been whining all around the world about "threats to religious liberty" while at the same time BYU is kicking out students who want to exercise their rights of religious liberty is the quintessentially Mormon piece of hypocrisy. They are such total clowns and asshats I can't really believe it.
