All I know is that I had my cat die not to long ago. He had some kind of disease of his pancreas? His symptoms sound the same. Loud laborious breathing, no appetite, lathargy. Once he got to that point he only lasted about a day. :(

I have a certain sister who I harbor a lot of hurt from, and anger towards. (for a peek into this dynamic you can read my bio) There has been a lot of judgment and phoniness from her since I left the church. I've even had a couple dreams in which I lose my shit and end up going ballistic and beat the living daylights out of her. I wake up right at the part where I lose it on her, in a terrified a

What I wonder, is how fundamental the church could get before certain people in my family would finally stop and say..... Nope that's too far. I admit, in a perverse way I want the church to do this..... I want certain people to suffer for turning their backs on me and wouldn't even consider my point of view. I want their faith to make them miserable..... Yeah I'm still stuck in my angry phase!

Good point. Divorce is not what it used to be. It is not the big terrible break up of the family, like it used to be. It can now be a very healthy and natural change in family dynamic, that can allow for more growth and inclusion. The more society allows for and actually embraces diversity in family dynamics, the more healthy it will be......says I.

I agree that this generation is just more real and honest about it. I could see it working for me.....I still want a solid base relationship/commitment with someone. I am the type that connects deeply one on one with people, and could see some friendships including a sexual bond also. I can't believe I said this! I am not the same person i was a few years ago.

I definitely had that moment of relief at realizing that it wasn't real...... Along with a bunch of other shitty feelings. I also had a very strong burning of the bosom feeling, that I rode with some kind of spiritual high for months.

For your own sanity..... How real can you be with your wife? Could you come out of the non believing closet? Could you have a frank conversation that you are willing to be there for her and help her, but that you are thinking of dating outside of your marriage? Some things depend on how much judgment you are willing to take from her and others..... I am still legally married to my husband. W

Good question. I believe there is stuff about the people who live on the moon in there somewhere too. And of course, the Adam is God theory also.

I don't believe in organized religion. And with my social anxiety, I don't want a new congregation to belong to. BUT I have two young kids whose dad is extremely black and white thinking tbm. So I take them every other week to the Unitarian Universalist church. It gets them away from Mormon church and exposes them to very different people and ideas.

Going slow is always great advice. The best advice I can give you is to let go, when it comes to your expectations of how it will affect your relationship with your loved ones. Be respectful and show love, but don't pretend to be someone you're not, or to believe something you don't. How she reacts is up to her. It most likely will affect many of your relationships. It sucks. But remember that fi

I'm betting my tbm's see the headlines and get angry at the "bitter anti Mormons" who just can't leave the church alone. Their brains will go into automatic defense mode, of the church. They won't fully consider it even, or even watch any of them, despite the fact that they have a lesbian in the family.

My eldest sister..... She is the oldest child in my family. 7 years older than me. She was like a rock star in my eyes. She is beautiful, stylish, over the top talented, fun, and interesting. One of those sparkling personalities that everyone wants to be around. She was always the star of the dance team. Everything she touched seemed to turn to gold. And she always had time for me, little, i

Sounds like you are a intense and sincere person :) thats wonderful... im a bit more mellow, but also feel those intense feeling sometimes too. I too have wondered about all those wonderful spiritual experiences. The church does a good job of making us think that all things profound, good, sincere, and meaningful, have to equate that the church is true. You sincerely belived in Joseph Smith,

Its a more elaborate Santa Clause myth. People want to belive for all kinds of reasons, that you have stated very well. Im hoping that maybe as society matures and progresses people will be able to move away from the need for a god figure, and learn basic true principals to live more happy healthy lives. Trying to point out that there really is no god, to people who aren't ready, is like bei

Wow, having a secret pay as you go cell phone just to mess with members......I like it. I would feel almost like a super hero. Having a secret identity (the phone), spreading doubt among entrapped cult members, helping them to free their minds and escape bondage..... Its late.
