Right here. Generally, I like the Tribune, but this editorial was just spiteful. Suggesting that the Utah National Guard should lock the unvaccinated up isn’t really very helpful. https://www.sltrib.com/news/politics/2022/01/16/how-did-utah-get-this/

It’s just a general catch all for anything that JS didn’t like in the Bible. He expected the BOM to be the primary scripture and encouraged that idea by creating doubt.

No,I had a Scoutmaster that was a paramedic. He told us that if anybody ever told you that garments protected you from physical harm then they were lying to you. He said he had seen lots of accident victims that wore garments and they didn’t help them one bit.

I think in this day and age there is more drama from coming home early than not going at all. A male that does not go will just be seen as disobedient whereas a male that comes home early will be seen as weak, lazy and unmotivated. I refused to go and found that dating opportunities were nonexistent and that I did not understand that not going on a mission drew a line in the sand with my futur

IIRC it was verbatim, however, to avoid any legal complications they changed the color of the apron to blue instead of green. If there was a copyright issue they would have tried it. They were really pissed off over that.

I have listened to many of his podcasts. Many are captivating and great, while others put me to sleep. I don't see him as a superstar or legend of any sort though. I would like to see him interview more ordinary people though. I really don't identify with very many of his guests.

I was told by my bishop that anything went as long as no third parties were introduced. I thought that was fair.

Very Angry! I was never an obedient Mormon. My wife at the time and I had civilly married one year before so we both had to do our initiatory, endowment and sealing in the same day. The initiatory freaked me out. I was naked under this poncho and actually had my weiner blessed. I was totally freaked and confused, we went up to the chapel to do the endowment. That made me giggle because of th

I remember how Emma Smith was rarely if ever discussed openly, due to her alleged apostasy. I recall only seeing one picture of her in a meeting house and that was of her being seen as starting the Relief Society at the behest of Joseph. It seems that during the nineties, when Joseph was reborn into the Action figure physique we see him in now, that they decided he needed a spouse (only one).

He served his mission around 1990 and spent the last year of his "mission" split between the Multnomah County Jail and an aunt's place in Northern California. He also served in our guard unit along with his brother. He eventually went to Prison in 2005.

Apparently there is a term for missionaries that come home early, "Early Returned Missionaries"(ERM). Article in D-News. Comments are always enjoyable if not maddening. https://www.deseretnews.com/article/900041718/called-to-serve-not-called-to-suffer-hope-for-early-returned-missionaries.html

I worked as a parole officer in early 2000’s in Southern Utah and was specifically involved in the enforcement of Utah’s sex offender registration laws. George Lee was arrested at least once for failing to register. He became a pastor in a small nondenominational church that was short lived. He ran for president of the Navajo Nation in the early nineties. I do remember that in the later

+He knew what he was signing up for and obviously wanted to go. I did the same thing, I spent 23 years in the National Guard and was eligible for retirement when we were called up to go to Iraq. I was given two opportunities to go home, I passed on each one. I spent one year in a combat area in Iraq. It was the most productive year of my life. I enjoyed it. I came home and used my Veteran'

I lived in Manti for years. The Church was not a fan of the pageant and was always wanting to abandon it. The locals loved it though and the Church always caved in.

My understanding is that there are several tiers of church security. The lowest level being temple security that are basically night watchman and custodians, church security that is the basic security functions around Temple Square and then the top tier is the personal security detail for the First Presidency. My understanding is that they are actually BYU detectives so they do have some Law Enfo

I agree... It just is a tough topic to really gain traction on with the church. They are not going to budge, sometimes you can only do the best you can and in this case he has done the best that he can. The public that cares about it are powerless and the public that could change it (members) won't.

Generally, it is safe to assume that the email program is scanning emails, both sent and received, to alert a live person of something "troubling".The purpose of the email program is to keep the missionary "pure". Don't communicate anything through myldsmail.net that would cause your missionary discomfort or awkwardness with his superiors. Talk over the phone or encourag

I don’t think hunger strikes are very effective. Especially by people who are not incarcerated. I think it is a bad move. Nobody will pay attention.

When I was fourteen around 1979 in Salt Lake we had a neighbor that was a hippy. She was an artist that had a pottery studio. She paid my best friend and I seventy dollars each to tear down an old shed and burn it. We were over there at seven in the morning and had it done by two. The lady paid us then gave us some iced tea. I drank it since it was iced I didn’t see a problem. My primary presid
