So....I'm putting my face in my trusty hat and interpreting that to mean one of two things. 1. There ARE some people coming from Eugene, but you aren't; or 2. No one is coming from Eugene. Either way, your "tipping" will be appreciated! :-)

What is your age, as I'm not sure what ages you mean by "younger". Also, I believe there was a group for teenagers started several years ago, but I have no info on it. If anyone else reading this does, please post.

I get so tired of this hotel room problem. I do NOT know why their reservation clerks don't have the info on the block of rooms we have. Did you ask for "reservations"? If you were talking to just the desk clerks, they don't know much about the contract we have. They are REALLY good to us, and this is the worst of any problems we have, but it seems to happen every year. I will aler

Absolutely we do -- that's what Friday night is all about. We call it "Mic Time", and people have a 5 min. limit to introduce themselves and tell whatever they want to. It's an amazing way to put out connections with the other people in the room, and by the time we've heard from a lot of people, it's kind of like we're one big family. I think it's a big part of what people get from t

The Foundation is excited about the program for our October Conference! It's a strong program, with something for everyone. Our speakers are: David Twede - of MT fame and for sending in his resignation letter while at the Conference in 2012, Janet Heimlich - an expert in the field of religious maltreatment of children, Richard Menzies -- award winning writer and the Easy Rider of Ex-Mormondon!

Just stopping by to remind you that the entire program with speakers' bios is now up on the Foundation website for "Chrysalis", the Foundation's 2014 Conference. You will also find all the information you need to register (which can be done on the site or by mail - info there). The Doubletree Suites is also now fully ready to process your hotel room reservation. Remember: do not cal

I have placed a couple of announcements here in the last few months, but we will actually have all the information up on our website within the next 48 hours, to include instructions for registering. I should have put the place and date in what I sent today. It's October 10-12, at The Doubletree Suites in Salt Lake City. I will make an announcement when the Conference page is live on our websi

The Exmormon Foundation has their own "channel" on youtube. Just do a search and the talks from the last few October Conferences are there. And yes, this year's will be posted there also. I know there are some audio difficulties at times, and we are working to make that better this year. Some years are pretty good, others not so good.

The Conference program, speaker bios, and info about a new and improved registration system will be up on our web site within the next week or so. I will let everyone know when they can begin registering. We are excited about the variety of speakers we have this year. Here is the list, and there will be much more on the web site soon. I like to buy the older books and lesson manuals, so that when/if the time ever comes with my "still devout" children, I can show them "YES!! The church did teach that --and usually for a long time"! My fun project (sometime in future) is to go through them and sticky note the side of every page that has something I'd like them to know. Then, I'll devote one whole bookcase t

My understanding was that they WERE using the audio from the speaker's mic. So, I'll need to check on that. You are speaking about the videos on Youtube, correct?

Yes, the socializing part of it is every bit as important (probably more) as the presentations -- although I've been pretty happy about how well those have gone over the years. It's always a great weekend for many who come-- especially those who are just venturing out of Mormonism. To be in a group for 2.5 days where you can say anything you want about Mormonism, about family shunning, trade st

The Exmormon Foundation Board is working hard to bring you some powerful speakers for our next Foundation Conference in October. The dates this year are October 10th - 12th, at The Doubletree Suites in Salt Lake City. We have the same time frame every year, beginning with our first gathering on Friday night, presentations and dinner banquet on Saturday, and a wrap-up Q&A session on Sund

In regards to the announcement put out yesterday about getting more involved in helping the Foundation by running for the Board, I failed to insert that if you are not a member of the Foundation, but want to run, you will need to join the Foundation immediately - as one needs to be a member for 3 months in order to be a nominee. We have put the elections off until May.

To the Exmormon Community: As a lot of you know, the Exmormon Foundation is the managing entity for the annual Exmormon Foundation Conferences. They continue to be well-attended, and we receive many thanks every year for continuing to sponsor them. The videos of the Conference talks are viewed by hundreds of people. All of this is a joint effort of all the Board. The Foundation also uses

Here we go!! I predicted a long time ago that we were going to see the church reach out more and more to the fundamentalist and evangelical churches in order to appear more main-stream. I even talked about it in my presentation at the exmo Found. Conference last year (re the issue of church vs. state). Here is a perfect example of how the church will try to use these churches as validation that

The block of rooms at the hotel for the Conference has now been released to the public. If anyone still would like to get a room, please let me know, and I will send your name to the Convention person I work with and she will check to see if there are any rooms left in the hotel. If there are, she will book it at our rate, and let me know. I will then let you know that it's been done. Sue

I somehow deleted the DAY in October when all registrations have to be in -- regardless of how you pay for your registration. It is OCTOBER 14th!! And for those who mail your registration in, that option will be deleted at midnight on October 9th, and you should have that registration in the October 9th mail at the latest, as we can't depend on the mail to get to our Treas. in time otherwise.

Just a reminder that it's a very few weeks until the Conference. Those of you who plan to attend but haven't registered yet we'd like to ask that you not wait until the last week to do so. Our registration people need that NOT to happen! :-) In addition, if registration isn't made and paid for by midnight on October, we won't be able to include you in the dinner count. The same advise for

I need to notify the Exmormon community that there has been a change made to the program for this year's Conference. Two days ago I received word from Tom Phillips that due to very unforeseen circumstances, he will be unable to attend and speak to us. He is deeply sorry for this, but it can't be helped, and sends his best wishes for an exciting and fulfilling conference for everyone. As you ca

I am happy to let everyone know that Richard Packham is coming to the Conference, and has agreed to speak at an extra session we will schedule for the noon hour. For those who are very new to the exmormon world, Richard has been "a rock to lean on" from the very early days of an internet presence for the exmo community, and I'm sure most of you have been to his web site for a wealth of

The Treasurer of the Exmormon Foundation (the one who receives checks that are written for registration) asked me tonight to remind everyone who wants to pay with a check to PLEASE!!! write the check to the Foundation, NOT to Mikayla Pratt! She has to go through an unpleasant rigamarole every time she tries to deposit these checks in our account. Remember -- if you send a check, make it out to
