Great post. No boundaries etc., its ridiculous and very manipulative. Once you step out of Plato's cave you clearly see it, it's just convincing others that is hard, but I'm working on it.

Thank God for caller ID. I saw the Exec Sec was calling and let it go. He left a message about the interview. We will be gone for a couple of weeks so maybe they will forget. If not for my wife (not quite out yet but close) and personal circumstances, I would never allow it. Instead I have to play some stupid game. I'd like to just tell them to F-off.

Yesterday we got a call from the ward exec sec for a worthiness interview for one of my kids. This seems like yet another good example of a cult-like activity, constantly on your back making sure you follow. The "worthiness" of my kids is none of their business. It is my business as a parent, but I don't even like the word anyway. We are good parents, we don't need some well inten

People find a 66 million year old T-rex tooth inside the bone of another dinosaur. T-rex tried to kill the other dino, but it got away. http://www.guardian.co.uk/science/2013/jul/15/t-rex-tooth-embedded- We have 120 meteorites from Mars… blown off Mars by impact and found their way to earth. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martian_meteorite However, we can’t find any evidence of the mi

According to my limited understanding of a science based evolutionary biological explanation called the "human condition" (good verses evil - why do we have Jesus and Hitler as part of the human family) religion has been rendered obsolete. My limited understanding of this is summarized below, but it seems like a very powerful idea. The full idea can be found here: http://www.wo

I am now drifting, but hope to dock as soon as I can get other people to respect my decisions (crazy things ward members do doesn't hurt). I do not want to lose trust with people. It takes to long to build trust to just throw it away. In short, I am scared of the consequences.

Probably being self-righteous and not helping my own family enough. Paid tithing, but did not help my single mom sister and her boys enough. What a jerk I was. I also hate the fact that my parents could not attend my wedding. They were very understanding, but Holy _ _ _ _ what an absolutely terrible thing to do to your parents.

Anyone hear of the New World transformation and "human condition?" It is a biological and evolutionary explanation of the age old idea of good and evil. This explanation makes a lot of sense to me from a logical standpoint and also just sounds right. No need for Satan etc., and the Garden of Eden story is backwards. My reading of it is that the main idea is that humans are inst

I commented on your other post and forgot to say thanks for posting the info. I am working with my spouse and gathering info. So far I have the MThink CES letter, J Dehlins powerpoint on "don't be mean to exmos" and now your info. Thanks again - this type of clear info helps.

Great post. You are in a different league with so much GA contact. I really admire your personal integrity. You could have easily stayed in and probably cashed-in based on your pedigree. For me it was mostly the intellectual, starting with science related issues - no death before the fall, absolutely no evidence of the book of Mormon, flood etc.

Nuances like "the earth was made from other planets" and other stupid stuff. I hope someone hits him with science problems and see how he nuances those. No death before the fall - God put fossils in the rocks to fool us? The sun gets light from Kolob - that is so stupid is needs no comments...

If you think that sounds crazy how about a rel soc pres that went to the Glen Beck event in DC (i think) a few years ago and then came back home and had a special rel soc on how "something big is coming." We are talking crazy Fing people in our ward. I know it sounds like Ripleys believe it or not. If I get the time I'll post the letter from the stake and the email from the ward

Stake conf was a couple of weeks ago, and we went to Walmart instead of stake conf. I did not get to see the parade of brown nosers show up and tell each other what a great idea it was to have a gang bang FHE and how spiritual ( barf barf barf) it was. My spouse is slowly getting out of the cult (Walmart instead of Stake Conf - yippee) and I am actually glad that this type of stupid cult st

About 2 months ago the stake announced stake conference. To prepare for the big event the stake pres asked everyone (announced and sent a letter) to have FHE at 7PM the Monday before and wanted everyone discuss the same topic. The Sunday before the big FHE event my wife received an email from the rel soc in our ward saying they would be going out randomly checking to see if you are having FHE.

In our ward the YM make a big deal out of modest dress and don't even want kids wearing shorts etc. It's a obvious control freak tactic - "you need to look like you wear garments even though you don't, so we can see who to "work on". We even get people who think they need to take our kids to ward activites or invite them to FHE because they consider us "less active."

This knd of psuedo science malarkey surrounding the B of M will never end. Its not hard to figure out that no real archeologist or even BYU archeologist accepts the B of M as historical, yet the truth impared never stop. The Smithsonian even has a form letter saying they don't use the B of M for science studies - Mormons please stop asking. The Baja penninsula seems to be the hot new B of M

500. Mall
It looks like God needs a mall/temple so everyone can now enter the new temple/mall and thereby become adopted "children of Abraham" by contributing cold hard cash to building of the kingdom. LDS Inc. even changed the mall/temple recommend. It now says "in God we trust" and it has a picture of Ben Franklin. If GA Mitt R. gets in the Whitehouse maybe he can get them to t

All this lying makes me wonder about the real amount of "discernment" the Bish and Stake Pres have as the mantle of authority is placed upon them. It's all superstitious non-sense in the heads of the arrogant annointed. My wife was called to the keeper of a table cloth they used in Relief Society. I guess it must have been magic or something. When she was called the Bishop assur

Wow - You have some strong views. I am just starting my journey on this. Maybe I will get to the rabid dog stage someday, but I hope not. "Won't lift a finger to defend my kids against the cult." Yikes. It's not like someone is coming at them with an axe. We all have traditions and life paths. We live in the USA and the USA does lots of stupid stuffand the miliatry lies about stu

We plan to stay in though we know its BS. I think the more time goes by the harder it will be. We have family and work reasons to stay. Though we were active, paid T, callings etc., we were not ever too serious (paid what we wanted and called it full), never did believe Adam in Branson, no death before the fall, flood etc). We went to the beach on vaca instead of paying - GROSS - to the Co
