If one had to pay, let's say, to go to a church on Sunday a monthly entrance fee of 10 percent, would that violate rules of a charity under tax laws?

If you believe in Christ, read the gospel of John. It will clear up the confusion of who Christ is and why the Mormon church claims are false and contradictory to the actual teachings of Christ. My friend once told me when I was still Mormon, "Jesus plus nothing equals everything". I wanted to still have faith and that helped me open my eyes to why I didn't need Mormonism. His grace is

If they lost tax exempt status would that mean the 10 percent paid for tithing would no longer be considered charity and therefore could not be put under charitable contributions on individual income tax returns?

I never heard of Christians not liking Mormons. I was raised non denominational and before I met my husband in my 30's I knew absolutely nothing about them and didn't even know one. I do recall one of my brother's high school friends who was Mormon debating with my brother about the matter and some of the ideas the Mormon kid talked about were so strange at the time I had no frame of reference an

A guy put that together. Women don't say "wifed up" nor do they say "freak in the sheets". That has man prints all over it.

Yes. Like another religious figure. I'm not a Mormon anymore so I don't have to answer to them. I'll just be respectful.

Thanks everyone. This gives me some good ideas. If feels funny and I am hoping it isn't trickery. My father in law is angry with me because of my ex membership and treats me very distantly. With him there I don't want him to get angered further. A few things stuck out which is, I am going to be confident with my body language. Polite but not open because I am speaking to a group who do not view

I am in need of some advice about one of the 70 who's coming to my house on Friday, apparently one of the top 70's, not state level. He's coming with the bishop, and who knows who else, because they're having a stake thing going on and they're going to visit my husband this is a likely activation effort since DH has started going to church and dragging me and little one with him. Since his mo

I tried finding it but could. I do wonder though. Does anyone know how the main actor in Johnny Lingo died? He died at 57, 20 years ago and there is no explanation. Even though it was insulting I still liked the naïveté of the time. It demonstrates how women were viewed and thus is a part of our history. "MaKee K. Blaisdell died in Ventura County, CA in 1988. He was 57 years old when he

Women will get treated this way as long as they allow it. Why any woman would be happy at the bottom of the pile is beyond me. If I had to rely on my husband for salvation I'd be screwed.

For me it was like a love affair with someone who is mysterious and attractive. But then you find out they have really big flaws you can't ignore or live with so you fall out of love and break up.

It shouldn't be that powerful. You can create a whole new family up there. Maybe even a better one.

I have hope we live on. Maybe we are like TV sets that get turned off when our bodies die. The transmitting waves are still there but with the TV off no one sees it. At my moms funeral many years ago there was a viewing room. I looked at her a long time. Her essence was missing. Her personality was gone. Where did the essence go? Maybe like a TV set that was switched off she has moved on. O

I am one of the few who hold to the idea of ripping off the band aid. But for me I could not have done it any other way but in grand style. After that, I set about to show them I am the same person who has always been there for them and respectful and good to them only now they see I set my own boundaries that they must respect. My husband oversteps that boundary at times then I need to remind hi

No but my husband and his family go around talking about magical things that happen. It's hard to not be rude when they tell me this bologna. I try my best to act like they are normal so that I don't embarrass or make them angry.

Well, this is just a snippet. I'm sure the guy isn't all bad or you wouldn't be with him. However, he is missing a bit of a sensitivity chip and seems to consider himself before you. I would just tell him you want to move on. You gave the relationship a go long enough to know you don't want a future together. I would say at your age you should find a functioning male. I don't want to put down pe

I was 48. I would not doubt if women in their 40's who finally don't care what anyone thinks including their children and husband finally give TSCC the final flip off for treating women as second class. The 40's for women is an age where many are saying, "This is my face. Live with it." No one is the boss of me.
