We still have food storage in the basement that is 30-35 years old; gotta give us some credit though, because we did use the sugar. Our next door neighbor was put in charge of burying the dead in the event of a catastrophe of any kind, because he works at a mortuary. Nice to know we're in good hands.

The Iranian women are so brave; they are standing up to bullies at the risk of their own lives. The Russian people are risking their lives by protesting against Putin's war. Wearing the Hijab reminds me of having to wear a veil in the temple, and women having to cover their faces. I wish people here in Utah would gather somewhere in the temple square area and do some kind of protest; at

The Florida Grace Christian School seems to suffer from a memory lapse; if they believe in the NT, Jesus, whom they claim to follow by identifying themselves as "Christian", never shunned or kicked anyone out except in two instances. He got a little upset at the money changers at the entrance of the temple. When He was brought before Herod, He ignored him; didn't even give him the

So the idiot older brother was left in charge, eh? That stunt that he pulled is called supplying alcohol to minors, which, depending on the situation, would be considered a misdemeanor or in some cases, a felony. Your bishop wanted to sweep the incident under the rug and forget it happened. How typical to make the victim feel guilty and protect the perpetrator. If you had had to have med

My husband and I visited the MMM site in 2018. It was a blue sky, sunny morning, with a little breeze blowing the two flags at the Monument. We were the only ones there. We could hear some wild birds chirping in the distance. Neither of us felt spooked or nervous. Instead, we both felt a profound sense of sadness.

Dogs are excellent when it comes to "sniffing" someone out. A few years ago, around 8:30 at night, our doorbell rang. Our little dog was barking her head off. Thinking it was probably a neighbor, I answered the door. It was a stranger who looked like he had just gotten out of prison. Luckily, my family was in the family room. My little fur baby has never bared her teeth or l

Brigham Young seems to have honed his communication and organizational skills after being in the Utah Territory for a few years. He lived in Salt Lake City, hundreds of miles away from Cedar City, where in dwelt President Isaac Haight. Prez Haight, John D Lee, and Briggy were in communication with each other. After MMM, Young paid a little visit to the mass grave of the Fancher-Baker pa

Brigham Young liked John D. Lee so much that he had him sealed to him as an adopted son, before making the trek west to the Utah Territory. After the MMM, the Feds came to Utah Territory to have a trial and have someone held accountable for MMM. That someone turned out to be John D. Lee, BY's "beloved son", who died by firing squad after he was found guilty. BY didn't hesitate to

My husband and I were babysitting our grandkids last week (our TBM daughter and son-in-law's children). We were sitting around the kitchen table chatting, when out of the blue, our 5 year old grandson declared: "I want to go on a mission!" My husband replied that "you don't have to go on a mission", whereupon our 10 year old granddaughter said:"Grampa! He wants to go

I have claustrophobia and have had two MRI's. I didn't want the sedative and I knew I would be tempted to open my eyes, so I asked them for a little wash cloth and they put that over my eyes. I then thought of pleasant places and events. I was even able to laugh at the funny noises the MRI was making. This probably wouldn't work for everyone, but it helped to have my eyes kept shut and g

The rescue operation costs should come out of the youth leaders' pockets. And you have to remember that a GA once said that when they have spoken, or the "prophet" has spoken, the thinking has been done. Therefore, their brains have been turned over to the GA's a long time ago; they aren't capable of having any common sense or foresight.

I noticed that the mom would say things like: "this isn't the way I raised her. Not WE raised her; I raised her. She also said: "in my home". Not OUR home; MY home. Quite the subtle way to shift the blame onto her. Looks like some of it was filmed in southern Utah. And then there's the heroic scene of the sons carrying the other family across the stream, when the family

So for some of them, it's been "a wounding experience" to have the temple ordinances depicted in dark ways. Yeah, it was dark experiences all right, when for 7 years I kept mimicking my own suicide or murder if I revealed the sacred hand clasps or the fact that we were pledging to be obedient or we would be in Satan's power. Schrodingerscat, thanks for providing the article. W

IMO, the final episode was the best because it disclosed the truth about MMM, and BY and his lies. It kept us on the edge of our seats for the whole episode. Loved that when Detective Taba told off the GA. I think all of the actors in these episodes did a great job with their roles; even the actors who portrayed the GA's and stake president did well.

My son-in-law's (soon to be ex SIL)father was the same way. The son-in-law's mother was doing research and finding out that TSCC was a lie. The father got into big fights about it with her and told her he would divorce her if she kept investigating. She stopped investigating and they moved to a small town in Utah. He had total control of the purse strings and that is why she capitulate

So horrible! It’s becoming the norm to have flags flying at half staff now. I would’ve thought that with everything we’ve been through for the past two years, that everyone would be kinder to each other. It seems to have brought the psychos out from under their rocks. Those poor families. Lives changed forever.

I think that if JS had survived the mob, he would’ve been brought to trial anyway, found guilty, and would’ve spent a good part of the rest of his life in jail. No one would’ve dared to speak in his behalf, including BY. BY would’ve taken advantage of the situation to take control over the church, and would’ve told everyone to get ready and head west with him and leave JS behin

This happened at a sacrament meeting with a popular family who were assigned to speak at it. This was back in the day when you were allowed to bring a little "show and tell" to make your talk more interesting. The kids were teenagers who spoke first, then the mom, then the dad. When the dad got up to speak, they all reached under their seats and pulled out rifles! I can't rem

When women and gays are under attack, we actually are all under attack. What happened to freedom from fear? Those people who claim to be Christian and are so against our right to live as we see fit, seem to forget something: Jesus never once condemned anyone, except for one person. That was King Herod the Great and He never gave him the time of day.

When we went through the endowment sessions prior to 1990, we also, in addition to the mimicked throat slicing, we pretended to slice open our abdomens, from the left hip and then across to the right hip. IMO, it was all about blood atonement and keeping women in their place. After reading Blood of the Prophets, it seemed to me that the oaths and penalties were handed down from what John D.

I had a doctors appointment this morning and hubby came with me. It was to make sure everything is okay before I have some surgery. We finally got our Pfizer booster shots right there at the doctors office. We had been hesitant about getting boosted after hearing all the different rumors about side effects, but our doctor was reassuring and said that the Covid-19 cases are starting to rise a
