Last year we almost lost my FIL to sepsis. Late last year/early this year we almost lost my MIL to the same. Nasty stuff! Very nasty! Get well soon!

Thanks for the wonderful posts. mannaz, you may be right about being contemporaries. I "took out" (weird phrase, right?) my endowments February 2, 1974 in the Salt Lake Temple, prior to my mission to the Australia East Mission, Spanish speaking. My new name is the same as my own middle name, so it has been rather easy to remember! *snort* So, yes, pre-90's throat slitting and disembo

From this thread: http://exmormon.org/phorum/read.php?2,1625756,1625756#msg-1625756 I took a deep breath and launched. The discussion with Mrs. Moose about my unbelief turned out to be calm. No fuss. No muss. But Mrs. Moose is as firm as ever and might be digging in for our discussion with the Bishop on Tuesday. I told her I do not want to convince her the church is false and will sup

FamilySearch had me listed as deceased. I had to jump through hoops to 1) Prove I am who I am. 2) Prove I am not dead. Idiots.

I told the Bishop Thursday wasn't convenient. He rescheduled for next Tuesday. I really want the weekend for discussion time. I'm sure my wife will need the processing time, too. Speaking of Mrs. Moose, she's the creative type with a good dose of logic. I hope the logical side will kick in after the inevitable emotional response. As I said before, with her I'll be gentle. The Bishop is anot

If you look at my profile, you'll see my e-mail address. Drop me an e-mail and we'll compare notes... **Note: I honestly don't know of an easy way to lookup a member's profile other than scrolling through the message listings in one of the forums and finding a post they've authored and clicking on their screen name if it's a hyperlink. If anyone else has a better way, I'm happy to hear it!

I'd say I've got the warm fuzzies, if I weren't already as fuzzy as moose are wont to be... :^) Thanks all for your posted advice. As for anyone's ability to offend me, may I just say that I usually (no, not always) take the high road and choose when to be offended, not matter how hard one tries to offend! I am mostly successful! (No one's perfect) I have not replied to the Bish ye

"My dear friend; You and Mrs. Moose have been on my mind. I am feeling that I may have offended you in some way. Would you allow me to come to your home on Thursday night at 7:00 to visit?" *sigh* This may "out" me if you decide to search on FB, but I posted the following in a closed group (closed unless you're a member) yesterday: ---- "Like many of you, I c

It's probably best to check HBO's online schedule. I happened to catch it during a free HBO weekend (I am not currently a subscriber to HBO).

Here's an e-mail I sent to Alex Gibney back in April of this year: "Dear Mr. Gibney, Over the weekend I watched your film 'Going Clear'. I was stunned! I am an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, also known as 'Mormons'. As such, I saw numerous parallels between the two organizations. I suspect, however, that LDS, Inc. (Intellectual Reserve, Inc.?) has, by

There are still cultures who keep their "genealogy" verbally, passed down generation to generation. These predate Mormonism by generations! They don't know Elijah from Adam.

I called this morning. Abinadi answered. I confirmed the address to be: Office of the First Presidency 47 E South Temple St. Salt Lake City, UT 84150-1010 Richard Packham (and any others who offer this information), you may wish to update your web page, based on the mouths of two or more witnesses! ;^)

With scant information, other than her blog and the video which are all from her point of view, my own opinion is that she is TBM and her ex-husband was a wife beating cad. She foolishly let her sons stay with her ex and they've never returned. The ex turned some of them against their mother. It's just another of many sad cases, some of it due to Mormon beliefs, some due to personalities. J
