That is why Mormonism is an inherently cruel and dysfunctional way of life. Thankfully many are waking up to this reality, but the wheels turn slowly.

I could see how it might influence young fiction writers, but they would certainly want to improve upon it. It could also influence con artists (like L. Ron, for example) to cook up new money-making schemes. Other than that...

Fish such as trout and salmon are adapted to extremely cold water. If the water is around 5 to 10 degrees celcius they can be quite comfortable and active (cold water contains ample oxygen) In extremely cold water some species generate their own antifreeze proteins, and their heart rate slows down to a kind of hibernation state. It's amazing how animals can adapt and survive in conditions that wo

The church is struggling to stay afloat in Canada. In provinces like Ontario and Quebec there is zero growth or decline. That is not a secret. Manitoba is much the same, which is why a temple in Winnipeg will be a waste of money and resources. Their only chance in Canada is Alberta, where there have always been pockets of Mormonism still alive. But even conservative Albertans are losing interest

You raise a good point topped. Why do they need to consult with "experts" when they can get everything they need through revelation? Seems like they can't count on the saviour to solve their problems.

"The mainstream scientific consensus about the origin of the ancient Americans and peoples is apparently at odds with the claims put forth in the Book of Mormon, though Mormon apologists have made efforts to reconcile these apparent contradictions." Apparently David A. Edwards overlooked this little quote from Wikipedia. I will, however, give him credit for this: "The Book

"Some of my friends may well disagree with these policies. However, I plea with them to not lessen their commitment to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Nothing that happens in this church-- however hard it may seem to be-- changes the fact that God spoke to a 14-year-old boy in 1820." CULT, CULT, CULT!

"...I plea with them to not lessen their commitment to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Nothing that happens in this church-- however hard it may seem to be-- changes the fact that God spoke to a 14-year-old boy in 1820". What defines a cult? Commitment to the group, or leader, above all. Our writer has confirmed that the cojcolds is a cult with her statement.

No one will ever win an argument with a Mormon, and rarely, if ever, will they admit to their obvious lies. But for someone fresh out of the church who is still hurting from the abuse of Mormonism such an encounter can be quite emotional and painful. In time you will come to accept that at best we can plant seeds in their minds, but to get them to openly admit to anything is very unlikely, if not

Templar raises a good point. I'm curious to know how many members actually hold a temple recommend. This figure would eliminate the dead and inactive members the morg uses to pad the numbers. Does anyone have this figure? Or is this one of those secrets the morg likes to keep.

It's sad to see a presumably intelligent person such as Dieter (he is a pilot, no less) reduced to a blithering idiot by his drug of choice, Mormonism.

The days of their door-to-door tracting are numbered. It's a colossal waste of time for all concerned. Modern, savvy con-artists use the internet for their scams. The morg is always two steps behind.

You are currently obsessed with this, but I think in time you will start to lose interest. Let it run its course. Things might start to taper off, or you may need to, at some point, quit cold turkey. Cultivate your interests outside of Mormonism.

Come to think of it, the way Brother Holland says "we are not a cult" is exactly the way tricky Dick said "I am not a crook". Very suspicious.

I agree with all of the above except-- the 15 do not speak to the world. They speak to a tiny, tiny fraction of the world's population. The world at large has rejected their fraudulent claims.
