Mickelson was the stake president in the stake I grew up in. He once promised my inactive father that if he would become active, he would become a great leader in the church. Thankfully my father didn't listen to him. I knew his children. His daughter Jean was year or two younger than me in school. I always thought they were a family to look up to. You never know what is really going on.

I have an owl. I love it! All the ornaments are brush bottle animals. I call it my pagan tree.

I met my now-husband because of this sight. A long-time poster is my husband's sister-in-law. She mentioned something about her exmo single brother-in-law living in my town. I asked her to tell me more and she sent him my email address and me his. We wrote emails for several months before finally meeting. That was 2001 and we married in 2006. Very happily married!

How do we get the media to start asking the right questions about church membership numbers? Someone needs to ask the church about how they count inactive members. If the people who resigned this weekend hadn't been active for many years (according to the church) and it's no big deal losing them, were they important enough to be counted in the membership numbers previously. I think it is tim

Shouldn't they have realized this previously because God speaks to them. Or does God only care about American children also?

Of course it's world wide now. But gay marriage has been legal in other countries for 10 years or more. I'm talking about those children in those counties in the years previous to this new policy. Maybe I'm not saying it clearly.

If this new policy was implemented to "protect children," why wasn't it implemented in other countries when gay marriage was made legal. Does the church only care about and want to protect children who are Americans? Gay marriage has been legal in Canada since 2005. What about the Canadian children? Aren't they worthy of "protection?"

Just wanted to add that I don't think God is going to judge the LGBQT community. I was trying to say the words that the LDS church could have said and still stay true to their beliefs. Myself, I'm agnostic and don't believe there is a father in heaven who will be judging anyone.

What the LDS church should have said. "We welcome all to come to church, we welcome sinners to come to church for we are all sinners, we welcome all children to come to church, including children of sinners. We welcome same sex couples to come to church. We will not seal them in the temple for time and all eternity because that is a privilege only one man and one woman can have. But sinc

My husband and I went to Red Robin a few weekends ago. You don't expect things to be quiet at Red Robin. It is always noisy. But this night the noise was a little different. On of the waiters was going around singing, which is bad enough. But the song he was singing put it over the top. He was singing How Great Thou Art. Talk about wrong place wrong time. Other diners besides us were

I won't say which one I work for, but I hope we serve you well. We very much try to caption correctly and are tested weekly to make sure we are doing a good job. It isn't always easy with accents, bad connections, or fast talkers.

I work at a place that captions telephone calls for the deaf and hard of hearing. A great many of the clients are elderly. These types of scams are a good percentage of the calls we caption. We can't legally add anything to the conversation so I try to send a mental message that the call is a scam and always cheer when the clients hang up on the scammers.

The brought "Your Erroneous Zones" home when I was in high school. My dad asked me what I was reading a book like that for. You can guess what he thought I was reading about.

If it is not in the chapel, they can do whatever they want. LDS rules don't apply.

Bishop wouldn't let my bro-in-law walk my niece down the aisle in an LDS chapel. He also wouldn't let the bridesmaids or groomsmen stand up with the couple. It was lame. I think it mostly depends on the bishop at the time.

Turns out my biblical name is the same as my temple name - Abigail Either Facebook is psychic or the church is true. Maybe both. Does yours match? http://www.surveee.org/biblicalname.html

Amyjo said, "He and his wife went on to have four children. Each suffers from ADHD. Serves em right." Children with ADHD are not a punishment even if their parents are awful people. Yes, they are a challenge, but not a punishment. I hope you didn't mean it that way

I was in Brooklyn NY recently in a Hasidic Jew neighborhood. The children in a family were often dressed in matching clothes. The brothers and sisters had shirts and dresses made out of the same material. This seemed to be their everyday clothes - not a special occasion. It was a little odd. When I took my kids to Disneyland I made them wear matching t-shirts so I could keep track of them

A guy in my ward growing up told me that when his adopted son was sealed to him and his wife, the baby's DNA was changed to match that of his adopted parents. I was probably around 14 at the time and remember thinking that was impossible. The guy always gave the girls in the ward the creeps. Later, we found out why. He went to prison for sexually abusing his bio-daughter.
