You know, when I was younger, I could find the Edit button. I also should know better by now to not try to type here on my cell phone. Sheeeesh! I'm just old Desert Woman. Don't know where the Y3 came from.

I second EOD's recommendation of Sarah Barilles' "Good-bye Yellow Brick Road". Haunting. Sir Elton himself praised her, saying she performed the song better than he did.

How interesting it is. Sometimes, I watch YouTube videos, and last week one video popped up about the song, "The Girl From Ipanema is a far weirder song than you thought". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFWCbGzxofU The young man hosting the video, I would say, supplements what Tal Bachman wrote.

Let's see if I can shed some light on the subject, O.K.? First, some context. It started way back in the early 1970s. I was baptized in 1968, just after graduating from high school. Being a convert at age 18 (you can do the math), I was at the age when the ward & stake leaders were gently pushing the M-Men and Gleaners to socialize and find spouses. I met a guy who lived on the other side

In Fawn Brodie's book, "No Man Knows My History", chapter XXII, called "The Bennett Explosi

Seajay, Go online and look up this word: Scrupulosity. Read up on the definition and its symptoms. It could be possible that you would feel much improved if you were to make an appointment to see your doctor and get a referral from the doctor for a therapist to help you overcome your guilt and worry. There are several treatments, including medications. You sound as if you would truly lik

Caffiend: Here It Is! "Doctrine and Covenants, Section 27". https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/27?lang=eng The italics at the top of the page give the context and history, including date, that explains what the scriptures lower on the page are about. This might help you understand more of the wacky Mormon behavior. Boy, we were weird.

This is why I'm a thread killer. I usually read the threads days or weeks after they have petered out. That being said, . . . I'm sorry about the passing of Will Bagley. Not having met or read his works, I have read Don Bagley's comments on RfM and some of his stories. I've also read many of Pat Bagley's cartoons in the Salt Lake Tribune before they instituted the paywall. Therefore,

They never interested me, and my Hot Man doesn't have any, either. I, on the other hand, have street maps of several larger European cities tattooed on my legs. Sorry, I didn't originate that joke. Robert Klein said it on HBO a few years back. Besides, as I've aged and lost weight, any attractive tattoo by now would become unrecognizable as an artistic design. But it would match my spi

After discussing it a while with Google, discovered the R.E. broker, plus Photos!, and the listed price is $2,600,000. The building cleans up really nice for real estate sales pictures. Don't yell at me. I didn't type the description in all-caps; the broker's staff did that. Plus, I ain't gonna include the demographics or pertinent information. Property Description CHURCH BLDG WITH

While driving thru the barrio today, we passed a ward building at the southwest corner of Civic Center Dr. and Tonopah Ave. in North Las Vegas. It's an older, odd, one-of-a-kind building, possibly built when members did most of the work themselves and wards put on budget dinners. Well, the building's for sale. Got a quick glimpse of a large For Sale sign out front. The online Meetinghous

Ms. Chlorine, i.e., Ms. Cl2 who posted above, reminded me of my temple name (received in 1975) as she and I have temple names chosen from JoJu's own family members. As I recall Ms. Cl2 went thru the temple years later than I did. Anyway, my new name was Katherine, one of JoJu's sisters. In the Ensign back in the '90s, during the Doctrine and Covenants year, the church published an article ab

Holy Frijole! What a beauty! Art Deco streamline decor and a cyclops headlight! Trains are what has kept me sane during this Isolation Year. My Man & I have been following the three live YouTube cams of the Tehachapi Loop, the town of Tehachapi, and a portion of track between the loop & town. It's been a real hoot for us old folks.

Well, some Canadian geese stopped off at a North Las Vegas city park with a pond & waterfall, liked it, and decided to stay. All year long. Including our infamous summers. Seriously, I swear they aren't bothered by either excessive heat or excessive cold. It must be their down insulation protecting them from the wild weather swings.

Delving into the depths of memory. Let me set the scene. Note: Narcissistic Son, or NS, was the former husband. I was a convert who married into a narcissistic family. Boy, was I ignorant. His dad claimed to be buddy-buddy with Harold B. Lee, and loved to talk about the differences between The Preparatory Gospel and The Fulness Gospel. He often talked about looking forward to having his c

No, EOD! It was how we were taught in school, for goodness sake! How many times have I read and reread a sentence, repeatedly, on this and many other online sites in an attempt to understand what the writer meant to convey and what word or words he or she left out in their haste to complete their thought? Don't get me started on recently-published books, of all things. What happened to pa

Holy Frijole, CZ! I nominate this thread to be added to the archives! There are so many deep, thought-provoking elements pertaining to the corporation, Jack-Mos, TBMs, Ex-Mos, etc. on this thread depicting how we do and did live our lives in relation to said elements. This discussion vastly eclipses each and every Priesthood & Relief Society lesson manual in the "Teachings of

If you live within range of a Costco, check them out online. They have special days and times for seniors. They carry out social distancing in the store & work to make your shopping go as smoothly as possible. I'd say it would be worth getting their membership.
