When I left the mormon church, after 30 years of truly believing, I wasn't sure whether it was 'true' or not. I had many doctrinal issues but I was confused because I had previously been so sure. What I did know though, was the church was damaging to me and I needed to run for the hills. Once I left the church I was able to think it through clearly, without the church leaders telling me what to t

I truly value the vastly differing experiences and insights that everyone brings to the RfM table and am in no way suggesting otherwise. I am simply asking, although our experiences and perspectives are different, doesn't everyone have an equal place at the table? I agree we are all in this together, which is why I don't think comments suggesting there are 'giants amongst us' necessarily

In another post a poster stated "Anointed One is yet another of the giants who walk among us...". I thought we left this kind of view point behind in the church. Please don't get me wrong, I love this forum and vey much enjoy reading the posts. You have helped me immeasurably over the last seven years as I have tried to unravel 30 years of being a TBM. This board has changed my l

Reminds me of the cover of the album Abbey Road. In the original Paul has a cigarette in his hand, nowadays you often see it printed with the cigarette air brushed out. PS I know this doesn't have much to do with the subject. Please make an allowance, I'm British, the Beatles are in my blood!

It'll make the TBMs I know bloody unbearable. They'll wear it like a badge of proof that the church is true.

I went in 1981. I was TBM at the time and I was very wowed by it. I would imagine it's changed since then though.

Brilliant Briggy! GayRM is also up for it. He's digging out his missionary badge so he can go dressed as a missionary. I'm considering doing the same. :o)

Forgive me if this is old news on here but The Book of Mormon Musical is coming to the Prince of Wales Theatre in London's West End in January 2013. I called the theatre and they expect the tickets will go on sale in the next six weeks or so. I read the script and listened to the CD this morning and cried laughing, rivers of tears running down my cheeks kind of laughter. It's pure genius.

Anyone know the recently called Area Seventy, Clifford T Herbertson? I knew him and his wife, before they were married, years ago in the singles ward in London. To be honest I always thought he was very attractive, he had a lovely Scottish accent and great legs (he played a lot of football if I remember correctly). He was quite hot in those days. He was always very confident, extremely

Not forgetting the story of the launderette being burnt down, by missionaries shaking the dust off their feet, because the launderette displayed temple garments for all to see. Not sure about anywhere else but it seems every mission in the UK had that happen to it at one time.

When I first went to church, in 1975, before the consolidated program, I am pretty sure we had a female Sunday School president. That was in the London North Ward, which was in the St Albans Stake (UK) at the time.
