October General Conference is my anniversary. Had been mulling it all over for a few months and had tried to convince myself the church was still 'true'. I didn't want it to not be. It was whilst attending conference in the London Hyde Park chapel, in October 2004, that I realised I just couldn't do it anymore.

I remember the 'don't marry outside your racial and social sphere' being taught by Darth Kimball in the seventies, and by the church ever since. How they can claim to not teach this defies belief. As does everything else about mormonism.

In thirties years in the church, and eight as an exmo, I have never heard of a 'Return Missionary'.

They have to say that but the sad thing is, the sheeple believe that crap. It makes me so angry. I believed with all my heart and soul, I loved the church beyond description. It felt like my heart broke into a thousand pieces when I realised it wasn't 'true'. Those bastards, how dare they say I was never truly converted.

Quite a few of the TBMs on my Facebook page are incensed and have been busy writing letters of complaint to the BBC.

I already have one TBM on Facebook claiming the show ‎was not a well-rounded, fair or balanced view of Mormonism.

http://www.amazon.com/Why-God-Wont-Go-Away/dp/0345440331 Bob McCue recommended Why God Won't Go Away. I bought it but haven't read it yet although if Bob recommends it there isn't much I could add anyway!

I also think that probably 100% of the gay men and women he interviewed confessed to masturbating, which may have influenced him to connect the dots in a totally bonkers way and concluded one led to the other. Even if he was aware of straight men and women masturbating he won't have factored that in because it didn't fit with conclusion he'd started with. When I was TBM he was a major part of

I was gifted a subscription to the ensign soon after I left the church. I called the magazine department of the church offices here in the UK and asked them to cancel the sub and refund the money to the account of the purchaser, I politely said I wanted to send a clear message that it was not appreciated. I didn't receive another copy and hope the money was refunded. I don't know to this day wh

..... I shocked the postman this morning by going to the door with no clothes on. I don't know what surprised him more - me being naked or the fact I knew where he lived.

Hey CA girl, I can totally relate. I've sort of wanted a tattoo ever since I left the church but I'm not sure why I want one. In some ways I want one just to make the statement that I can if I want, to show I'm in control of me now (and not the church). But I'm not sure that's a good enough reason. And the second reason is, if by some miracle I make my mind up, I don't really know what I want!

I think it means the church owns him. Unless, like Annointed One, he comes to his senses. I rather like the idea of an Exmo POTUS. TBMs are already getting smug about him getting this far, now wouldn't his apostacy that turn the tables. I can dream can't I?!

I think that book has probably caused as much, or more, heart ache and pain as the rest of the mormon twaaddle put together. I don't know whether to hate him for writing it or pity him for thinking it up in the first place.

Hoffman was a huge influencing factor in me figuring out the church was false. I simply cannot understand how a member of the church can still believe in the leadership of the church after this. This leaves feelings behind, the hard facts are irrefutible and yet, to borrow a line from a seminary song from the 70s, "their eyes are not yet open for they cannot see the truth"!! PS Anyon

I saw him from a distance at church in London and thought he was v handsome. He didn't seem a nerd but maybe the suit helped. Plus I was very young at the time so didn't have a well defined nerd radar then.

I believe, many years ago, satan's apron showed the symbols of the four suits of playing cards (a heart, spade, diamond and club) and that McConkie made reference to this in Mormon Doctrine, using it as the reason that no worthy member of the church would be found with playing cards in their home. I no longer have a copy so cannot produce evidence, am going on memory. Please correct me if I'm wro

I'd forgotten that particular nugget. We were taught in seminary, in the late 70s, that the atonement covered all the worlds and the reason jesus came only to this earth was that the most wicked AND the most righteous spirits would be born here. At the same time we were taught some mumbo jumbo about this planet being the furthest from kolob and the nearer the other planets were to kolob the
