It was also 25 years ago today that I entered the MTC (shudder). I hated that place, and still dislike even driving through Utah County.

Oh yes, I have definitely read the transcript of pre-1990 and it sickened me. I remember being in high school, and there was talk about the survey, changes coming, and temple attendance. One poor guy even had to periodically stand up in sacrament meeting and show temple attendance on a chart. You were suppose to report to him if you went. I did not think much of it at the time, but now I can

Well, it was 25 years ago today, that I "went through the temple" for my first time. No one in my immediate family had went through before, and the temple prep class I briefly attended was an absolute joke. I was absolutely stunned by what I experienced, but didn't dare leave when the opportunity presented itself. My oldest, who is considering a mission, will be fully informed by me

It was nice to see summer shorts on sale, and not have to worry about my undies hanging out the bottom if I purchased a pair. I just had to shop for the colors that matched my shirts, and length did not matter at all! It was kind of liberating...

I was born in the early 70s, so there was decent technology, but I have got to see it increase. I LOVED being able to grow up in the 80s, and wouldn't trade it for anything. I went to college in the 90s before the Internet boom, and am glad I had to do things "the old way".

I was at a 9/11 conference this summer that was held in NYC. I thought the memorial and museum were very tastefully done.

We actually would bring dessert. We would buy those Jello Cheesecake mixes and bring one with us to some members' homes. I was taught by my parents to not be a "taker" in life, but a "giver" as well. :)

When it happened to me in 2012, he said it was from the "Handbook", and something that was now being reinforced. I was still "in" at the time enough that I didn't argue, but I HATED being humiliated like that.

Thanks Liz, but it was three years ago when I was "permitted" to baptize another son, but could not confirm him because I did not have the recommend. I found it humiliating, but I dealt with it. The bishop at that time said it was in the handbook of instructions.

I never implied that anyone was rude to me. If anything, they were trying to be over polite, but I am not dumb. I am just upset by the whole process. I showed my wife the seer stone thing earlier this week, and all she said was "Hmmm". I said, "Nothing that comes out will ever change your mind will it." She said "Nope." I have come to accept that. I have gre

Today was the baptism of my youngest son. I left the church over a year ago, so my oldest son (a senior in high school) performed the baptism. (He and I have a great relationship where religion is concerned, and he understands me.) Anyway, about an hour before the service, my daughter comes back to my office in my house, and was upset. (This is my daughter who told me that she will not get ma

I was ALWAYS bothered by the Mark Hoffman affair, even as a teenager. If these men were "prophets", how could they have been so easily deceived?

I think Peggy Fletcher Stack's number of around 200 was pretty accurate. We left after he spoke to the crowd and went into the church. The numbers may have fluctuated after that.

I attended the vigil tonight, and am very glad that I did. I wanted to observe the behavior of the crowd, and they were outstanding. I also wanted to observe John and how he handled himself. I was impressed, and sincerely felt he believes he is doing the right thing. I AM SO GLAD I WENT!
