By the time I was in HS, I was no longer active. I had been in jail, drank, having sex. Removed myself from the Mormons. when people ask me if I served a mission, I tell them I spent 6 years in the Navy defending your ass.

I have told this before. A friend of mine worked a Utah County dump. Every year people would throw canisters of wheat, oats, what ever they had in food storage that went bad. He would collect it up, feed it to his chickens and pigs. He had the best fed livestock in the valley.

The one statement that I remember was,, " you know you are not,,". then they would proceed to tell you what you are "not". you can tell a Mormon, just can't tell them much,,

I never did believe totally. I went along to get along in a small Mormon only town. A few weeks after I graduated HS, I moved to SLC, sent in a letter, went to an interview, Never regretted it.

No, never in Mesa. I showed people how to smoke and preserve meats. Never sold anything. Was invited to cook for people at parties and family gatherings. Just a hobby.

I used to give cooking demonstrations to relief society groups. Never heard such gossip, back stabbing talk in my life. Whoever was not there, was talked about and Oster sized. Such a negative dirty way to live..

Many years ago several of me and fiends would meet at the underpasses Sunday mornings. We cooked potatoes, hot cakes, eggs what ever we could get our hands on. Cooked on our Coleman camp stoves. Each week the group got bigger, more food, also clothing was handed out. Was great. One morning the police and health department sowed up. We didn't have all the permits and shut us down. what a shame. Ne

Several years ago I was invited to a social gathering at friends house. I was aware it would be mostly Mormons attending. However I was friends of the couple throwing the party. I lived in Utah county for 25 years as a non mo. Over the years the Mormons don't have the influence or power they used to have. There was a lot I enjoyed about Utah. I kind of made my own enjoyment. Spent time camping, fishing, visiting Park City. it is what you make of it

Been there seen that. My ex started returning to the Mormons. Insisted I rejoin and take here through the temple. Never happened. Within a year, got a divorce, lost our business, lost our house. Was a nightmare. I rebuilt my life on my terms. Never remarried, Never trusted any Mormon, always self employed. Now totally retired and living in a small remote mountain town. Life is good.

The basic thing people don't understand, learn a trade or skill. I was self employed for 30 years. I had a skill and a knowledge that kept me afloat. Never made a lot, but I was my own boss. That alone was satisfaction for me.
